HGV overtaking 2 cyclists on A11

In the past unless I’ve had some reason to believe there was a complete idiot behind me I’ve moved right over like the driver in that video did, but after watching that video I will in future be blocking both lanes when overtaking cyclists in a similar situation.
That was just stupid of the car driver :unamused:

I cycle just over 11 miles to work and fortunately most can be done on cycle paths but the last 3 mile is on a stretch of road that is more than wide enough to accommodate me, after a few weeks of doing this I am seriously thinking of stopping my cycle to work, it’s very scary and it’s always daylight so I doubt I’ll be doing it through the winter months

I agree, terrible driving but one thing has always puzzled me regarding where cyclists can cycle.

Motorways- very busy, max speed limit 70mph, 3 sometimes 4 lanes usually hard shoulder- cyclists not allowed

Dual Carriageways- very busy, max speed limit 70mph, usually only 2 lanes with no hard shoulder- cyclists welcome

Don’t make sense to me!!

Even more so when there’s a purpose built cycle track that runs parallel to the road sometimes with distance and bushes etc between them for added safety
