There is an unwritten rule that you must give way to the larger vehicle, in this instance, he left it a bit late to pull out, and should have caused squealing tyres and skid marks, shame on the trucker not to have done this, but no problems caused.
In all seriousness uk drivers of both large and small vehicles have no patience, will not give way, even if stuck in traffic and a vehicle wants to get out, i`m afraid we have become very selfish drivers with no time to waste, even if its only for a second.
Although you are right about the Highway Code rule but, there is another that is ignored by other road users a lot, which is, give way to large or slow moving vehicles! Perhaps the lorry driver thought he was in the right.
But like most have said, sometimes you just gotta go!
Trailer looked foreign ish

Couldnāt read the number plate on the trailer but did seem to be a UK style, removable, plate and not a continental fixed version.
After reading the title, I was expecting something more. Something for the CSI to really get their teeth into.
OP, you disapoint.
Which dash-cam do you use?
Would anyone agree that part of the reason for this sort of thing is that roundabouts are too [zb] big, allowing vehicles on the roundabout to go too fast? This then means that the gaps are rarely big enough for lorries to pull out in safety.

na its just a rush rush culture ⦠as its been said by someone , Even Iāll get on the RA and go slow in the car if a trucks trying to get on in a busy time.
Again its all about understanding vehicles and the ability of acceleration.

THIS ^^^
The bloke made an error, s hit happens, but the bloke with the coffee jar needs to wind his neck in. Sometimes the speed of cars on a roundabout is just too fast for safely entering a roundabout, he may even have thought, look at this ā ā ā . I will slow him down a bit

You can buy those dash cams with all the kit for less than £20 on Fleabay nowadays.
The quality of the recoding makes me think itās not a Ā£20 camera which is why I asked.
someone made a mistake. Lets shoot him for it. To much of āMr Perfectsā now days.
If I can be very pedantic its the Harford Bridge roundabout rather than Postwick
Just some ā ā ā ā ā ā from a farm on the way to Caister or Stoke Holy Cross. Itās normally not too bad there except in rush hour.

+1
Looks like GoPro quality.

I have one and itās brilliant in the dark.
Iāve just noticed the date on the video 17/10/2013, why have you decided to ask about this five months after the event ?
Maybe he didnāt know about TruckNet until yesterday?

Because he got his fingers burnt on facebook and they are not as polite as we are
funny enough after popping into tescos for my coffee. I then headed down to Felixstowe to wash out this morning. two cars pulled out in front of me on the roundabout from the same junction the daf on your video did. I guess drivers seen a truck coming towards them and guessed (wrongly) that I was loaded and slow. did I get irate and flip them the finger?..nah it was a nice morning

Sometimes, at a busy roundabout, you just have to āgoā.I agree with your comment, but this roundabout is big enough for the HGV driver to see what traffic is coming far away. So it boils down to bad call?
What can the car drivers do to make your lives easier?
In this instance the car drivers can do very little to help the trucker as the cars have no communication between them. If you are on your own though and it is your right of way, giving way to a truck which is already in motion will get you bonus points. For example negotiating parked cars, junctions, indeed, roundabouts. If the truck hasnāt got to the point of stopping yet, wave him or her on.
On the subject of parked cars and the like, there is nothing worse than bringing a truck to a halt and then some wally giving you the right of way!

my tenpenith,oh well, it happens, crack on
disappointed as the post title āHGV driver ploughs through trafficā i expected him to plough through, moving everything out the way at raming speed
This is Ploughing through = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQAvx2Qbb3o
The white Actros at the front is one of our motors, the old fella behind him died when the tanker smashed into him and sent him into the concrete wall. The German had been up for 20 hours and drove for about 18 without a brake if I remember rightly. He came off the ferry at Dover did a drop then a pick up in Boston then was heading back for the ferry.
The woman and child in the car that got shunted into the tanker the shunted into the Downtown truck were walking wounded! Unbelievable considering the state of their car. If you haveānt seen it go on the Daily Mail website and search for "German trucker jailed for M25 crash "
