Hgv dash camera footage

Ah Dipper, I knew you would put my analogy right if I had erred

I feel very dirty now almost like ive been pulled off against my wishes.

Going back to the red car for a second, due to inheriting someones moments of crap driving when buying a second hand motor these days not only do you have to HPI check it now you have to check youtube to see if the previous owner was a complete ■■■■.

Car lots will soon have to add ‘No youtube history’ to their sales patter in the used vehicle section.

Car driver was a complete and utter idiot for doing that! But surely as vocational drivers with licences hard got, those two could have behaved better and set a better example, so many lorry drivers do this without meaning to at times though, I get that, it’s happened to me, but as soon as I realise I have misjudged an overtake I drop back as soon as its safe, makes for a quieter life and an easier day all around.

really there are 3 pricks on show in the clip.

White Scania man for not knocking a km off the limiter.

Dashcam man for trying a 0.5km faster overtake on a two lane stretch.

And the world class award goes to the red car driver who clearly was feeling a bit suicidal that day.

Sorry mate but I need to disagree. The two hgv drivers are not pricks nor did they do anything wrong.
The only prick is the idiot in the car.
The white scania did not need to knock a few clicks off if he doesnt want to and dashcam man is moving faster so why shouldnt he overtake if he wants to, even if only 1km/hr faster?
They are both within the speed limit and if red car prick is too impatient to wait then he does not belong on the road. With the kind of mentality that says he is so enraged at having to sit behind a slower vehicle that he bombs up the hard shoulder and then brake tests, then that person needs their license removed. Its [zb] like him who cause incidents that kill other people (yet very rarely the one who caused it in the first place)

  • 1 Car driving prick would have been pushed with any luck under the wheels of the other truck, vegetables that that can’t be taught they always are right, Plod should be proactive at removing crap like this from the roads

Just watched the video again looks like the lorry overtaking had only been in outside lane for a short time as he was making reasonable progress , however the lemming / prick /goldfish in the car which comes back as as TOYOTA COROLLA T2 D-4D (114) committed several traffic offences , using the hard shoulder to undertake the fakin lorry then careless /dangerous driving by slowing down in a dangerous manner likely to cause an accident , the prick had passed the slower moving lorries, but instead of continuing their journey, they deliberately attempted to cause an accident by their actions,

The car driver needs to spend a day in dipper Daves house of behaviour correction but dash cam man is that the piña collada song playing on the radio embarrassig

Unless things have changed there’s a camera just in front of where the fool brake checked the lorry, with a bit of luck the camera was facing the right way and the whole incident recorded

As an aside, almost, did the truck being overtaken speed up? If so can have been on one of these new “eco” cruise control settings? i.e. one of those evil horrible things that means the vehicle speed varies a coupla kliks up or down from set speed . (That`s me getting up on one of my soapboxes again then).

The speed of the white Scania appears to be a very steady 54.5mph. at the begining of the vid there seems to be very little difference, but just before the brake test the camera truck touches 56.25mph. So there no suggestion to me that the Scania is being a bit of an arse and speeding up. I would say he is sitting on cruise knowing the overtaking truck will pass in a reasonable time. I see absolutely nothing wrong with either of the lorry drivers, both seem very professional to me. The idiot in the car should loose there privilege to drive.

Or breathe even as fockers like that are oxygen thieves

I don’t think I would have been able to brake that much and may have made contact with the suicidal car driver.

Radar19:
Its made worse when companies ■■■■■■■ speed even further by limiting speeds more than the 56 the EU allow. I’ve not got a decent answer as to why most of our rigids are limited to 52 whilst our artics are set to 56.

Fuel consumption is the usual favourite. :grimacing:

yes and granted the morons wish, with some unintended consequences for him no doubt , My conscience would be clear if a ■■■■■■ of his calibre died as a direct result of his actions

As tempting as it would be to brake only enough to give him a nudge to send him spinning into the barrier, there may be innocent passengers in the car who don’t wish to be involved in his foolish driving.

This…especially as there may have been children in the car  …who will probably, now, grow up to act like their retarded parent :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Captain Caveman 76:
White trailer driver should have been courteous and dropped down a couple of k’s to let camera man pass, but he has no obligation to do so. Cockwombles like the Audi driver need to learn they share the road with others. I hope they find him and string him up by the left testicle.

+1

Co-operative use of the road space. We all use it so should (yes I know…in the real world) give and take a little when necessary.

I would absolutely make a complaint to the police of dangerous driving. The footage is solid evidence, regardless of date/time inconsistency - this can be accounted for with a statement detailing the inaccuracy. The actual event date/time can then corroborated via tacho, employer (driver/vehicle/route); and if necessary ANPR cameras on route etc.

The audi driver needs to be left in no doubt his actions could well have cost someone their life.

Good job this wasn’t during rush hour, the M18 past Donny gets pretty chaotic in the mornings.

ooh think of the children card is out,(i wondered how long it would be) the prick who was in the driving seat of the car should of thought about that they are responsible for their passengers, it’s not for the rest of to do so, and as said already about them growing up to be oxygen thieves too, then you who be doing society a bigger favour

it wasn’t an Audi , it was a toyota and even if plod did report the clown for everything possible, the courts would probably let him off with a slap on the wrist (min sentence) and the prick would continue as before

sadly they can’t take away someone’s right to drive for the rest of their life

brian went to overtake the scania and was passing him fairly quick and then he speeded up, so really there are only 2 pricks

This has got to be a wind up?

Similar situation happened to me but it was on a roundabout… I was fully laden and roundabout was clear when I pulled away but this car appeared from nowhere must of been absolutely belting it and took to his horn then continued to follow me further up the road and anchored then on in front of me… neverless a few unsavoury words was exchanged and we was on our way I could do without out as I’m only trying to earn a living and ppl like that have no idea what it’s like to drive a truck let alone fully laden…
