Hi Dave, heres PHV20L in Wilsons livery and then its sister PHV21L on for Ball of Madley
Hope these are of interest

Would any of you lad’s remember a company called Farnew ( not sure if spelt correct ) they were based on or near the Rotherwas Industrial Estate, Hereford, as far as i know they were potato merchant’s and their yard / building’s are still there ? Back in the sixties my farther drove for a transport firm called Bryn Thomas of Siginstone, Near Llandow aerodrome, South Wales , they did a lot of work with hay and straw and often went 13 /14 tears high with rack’s over the cab and extension rack’s fitted to the rear, One other regular job was to go from Siginstone up to Hereford in his own lorry empty, take one of Farnew’s leyland octopus 8 wheeler’s and drag of to the Fen’s going to the various farm’s to build up a load of spud’s all roped and sheeted, back to Hereford, take of the 8 wheeler what was wanted to load his own lorry, and back to South Wales.
Hi Bubbleman,
Did M C Wilson have it before Ken or after, remember Ball’s having a F88 but didn’t notice the number, we learn something everyday.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Graham, just seen this post.Berrington was ■■■■■■■ with Shepherds in Sheffield - not J.J.Shepherd who is still going though.I cant remember the initial but their wagons were in a red or maroon livery.I don’t know what happened to them,I last saw them around in the 70s/early 80s and IIRC they were a decent firm to work for.
There used to be a firm running around in the 80s called Man of Ross.I saw them quite often when on nights loaded with fruit. Are they still going? Four-wheelers mostly I think.

Dave Nevilles smart curtain sider. Dave ran a fleet of sixteen vehicles until a couple of years ago, he now drives this lorry himself, and last time I spoke to him, he was enjoying it.
Great pic’s again Dave, at my age the MAN of Dave Nevilles would be just the job.

Doug Dawe & Sons six and four wheeler at Strinds quarry march 6th 2009.
Doug is sadly gone now, I worked with Doug when he drove an old AEC 8 wheeler out of Gore quarry as an owner driver in the late sixties.
Countrywide have had a mill at Presteigne, just over the border from Hereford until recently. Had to take close up, because of vehicle parked close in front.
