Burley Gate on the A417, also another from Hereford, John Bevan. I used to travel across the 417 travelling to Gloucester and beyond, also to the M5 which was being built in the sixties, driving for C M Philpotts from Kington, also drove for C W Griffiths and S W Brisbane, all hauling for the Quarries between Kington and New Radnor. Don,t know if you remember the Mann Abell lorries yellow tippers Philpotts and Griffiths were in their colours,Mann Abell ran Albion four wheeler Clydesdale tippers before being taken over by Tilcon, who ran claret and blue eight legger Fodens, Brisbanes hauled for Nash Rocks.
There were a few drivers from Knighton driving for Cadwalladers and Lloyds on steel, don,t know who was on for D & N Morgan or Swains of Stretton.

Nash Rocks were bought out by Minorco about 15 years ago. Minorco were bought by Anglo American who had already purchased Tarmac, then they bought Tilcon, they now all trade under the Tarmac name in the UK. the Quarries that you hauled from under the Nash Rocks name are still operational.

Bobs shop owner near Michael Church Escley on the edge of the black mountains, does a bit of everything, its run by Percy Powell as far as I know, used to run a couple of stock lorries, sold coal, did a bit of scrap.
Had health problems last I heard, but think he is ok now.
