Here we go!

Right, all packed. Visa and dollars all checked about 40 times… Fly tomorrow 10am from bristol to Schiphol, then 3 hours after landing to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St Pauls), for another 3 hour stop before flying up to Grand Forks ND to arrive about 10pm Central.

See you lot on the roads of the USA

God help us all … We’re safe up in the northeast tho, right? Not much harvest work up here is there? hahahaha

Yeah :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: But She say’s she’s coming to see us Kate :open_mouth:

Bye Bye Weston Super Mare :frowning:

Hello America :stuck_out_tongue:

Bye Ali

Pat Hasler:
Yeah :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: But She say’s she’s coming to see us Kate :open_mouth:

Yeah, but when I get to you lot I’ll be in some rental car, they won’t cause the same damage to your yard that a big truck would :stuck_out_tongue:

I think Allikat’s going to find out first-hand what the American term “Farm Plate” means…

Give it “full noise” Alli,
I can still smell that lovely scent of a “road-kill” Skunk as your driving down the road :frowning: :frowning:
good luck.

Here we go ere we go ere we go!..
Bored in a net cafe in Holland, will keep in touch as much as possible.

   You can’t stay away from a PC can you

Good luck finding an internet connection (or even a touch-tone phone…) in rural ND. Send us updates when you can…

Don’t worry Alex, she has taken 100 miles of cable with her

Well if I remember right when I was OTR you can get an internet connection at any TA? cant you…at least you could at the ones I went to.

Bully

Allikat’s going to be in North Dakota. There are no T/A truckstops anywhere near that state. Burns Brothers is probably the only chain up there, and they are really very basic (although one in SD has a buffalo herd on premises, and actually serves their own buffalo steaks, buffalo chili, etc).

ND is probably the most rural state in the union. When I was driving, it was the last of the lower 48 states I got to, since there is almost zero freight going there. I’ve driven about 2 million miles OTR, and I’ve only once gone down I-90 through ND into MT-and that was only because I went out of route to see it. I once delivered to Fargo, on the eastern end of the state. Probably 95% of the truck traffic is north-south, with drivers either going to or coming from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Outside of polar regions of Canada or the outback of Australia, it’s likely the most uninhabited place in the english-speaking world.

Out of all the bars we “frequented” all over the midwest on harvest in 2002 (being Northern Irish I was in quite a few!!!) the best ones for the “craic” where in Grand forks ND without a doubt   Even up on the border in Langdon ND and Mott south west ND had its moments.Don’t knock ND its not as bad as you folks overthere think!! apart from the winters!!! :frowning:

LMAO… so a good bar is the only criteria for a good place to live■■? hahaha Leave it to the Irish!!! They have to have good bars in ND… there’s nothing else to there except going buffalo hunting or ice fishing… It’s a remote state… and there are definite reasons for that.

…and if there ain’t no saloon nearby, then a 3 litre jug of Grain Belt beer will do…

Well good bar’s are the only criteia for being a good place to live

Pat, your my kinda man

I would think by now Alli is wondering ‘What the hell have I done ?’

Maybe not Pat,I’ve been told some of Altendorfs harvest crews are heading to a new job shortly in Nevada!!! :open_mouth: :open_mouth:  Raindays off in Vegas
