Cheers Dean! Is it still owned by them?

With all those conversions they’ve done to it, another name comes to mind…Wally Balsdon…didn’t they swap a F88 cab for a F12 cab…?

As far as i know he does and i think he also has 1 or 2 N12’s. Wally Balsdon rings a bell i will see if i have anything on that.

Digging in me grey cells as we speak, but I think they swapped the cab, added a fourth axle and I believe the roof was converted as well, yankee style if my memory serves me well…

I ■■■■■■■ hope not, Regards Larry.

We did quite a bit of lowlowder work, But sadley no photos, We did wide loads & 60ft loads in the 80/90s, The money was good, Until Gordon Brown came into power & rockeded the price of fuel the ■■■■■ Thats why Dunbars family firm packed in when we were winning & came out of the haulage game with a few bob.Regards Larry.

Looking back at that decision it was probably the best decision one could make, to much firms seem to keep ploughing on for rates that nearly is enough to cover the diesel costs…
And there seems to be some sort of “development” with certain hauliers, and not for the better that is…new to the game, but they just buy a step frame and underrate the current prices…

Just a thought, but just imagine what it would be like if the green fleet from ■■■■■■■ came into this field of expertise…that’s the day we could pack it in I reckon…
Fortunately, they already did a gig for the railway network, and the contract wasn’t renewed…close shave that was

Shame about not having any pic’s though

But your contribution is very much appreciated, ta mate!

Cheers Dean, that’s the one I was referring to, they were featured in Heavy Torque as well, last year I think it was, they’ve now got a bonneted Scanny with a crane fitted and…er…quite some extra lights on it as well…

This looks rather interesting! Wasn’t it easier to have some “knock out” axles fitted…? Much easier (not always, mind) to operate then removing the complete axle.

Some more from me.
