Have i been caught speeding?

i was driving a van , mercedes sprinter , on a1 northbound , after junction with a52 for grantham there is a new gatso camera i believe , i was doing 67 mph , and i’m 99 percent sure it flashed me , the limit is 70 mph , but vans can do 60 apparently , so is it possible i will get a ticket??

Is the A1 at that point motorway or dual A road?

I recently had a white van man come to me for the advanced and was unaware that vans only had a 60 limit on a dual !!

The exception being car derived vans

I would think its unlikely unless the camera can tell which type of vehicle is passing. I’ve seen that camera flash every time I go past heading south, 2 weeks ago it flashed at nothing, it was raining though.

it’s a dual a road , i dont drive very often , so i didnt know it was 60 for vans, apparently these new gatsos can differentiate cars , vans and lorries

Dual there mate.

It’s a face on camera if it’s the 1 I’m thinking of, it is national speed limit dual. I wouldn’t have thought you’d get a ticket if you were showing 67 on your speedo, even 67 on sat nav tbh…

Are you sure it wasn’t your lights reflecting off it or something, they don’t ‘flash’ like a normal gatso, they do flash but it’s kinda tinted.

i’m sure it was a flash , i looked in a mirror for no reason to be honest and i saw it flashing , it’s not the face on one , 70 was on my speedo , 67 on a satnav , like i said it’s a new looking gatso , i think it’s called gatso serco smartpole

I doubt you will receive owt as it is not 10% +3 = 69

Could be = 68

Why the doubt? It flashed and if its got film - yep you’ll get a ticket

I believe the camera in question is the 1 near the railway line. On the N/B side you run downhill towards it. It’s a brand new camera of the latest type the only 1 of that type I’ve seen on the A1. Whether it can distinguish between vehicle types I dunno. However I have seen trucks flash their eye burners as someone passes a camera in front of them. Which makes you think the camera had been triggered. The last time this happened to me was N/B by Stoke Rochford golf club

Know quite a few people that have been caught doing 60+ on dauls in vans lately.

It has recently, in the last 8 weeks roughly, been changed for a new digital gatso catching you from the rear as you pass it! catches lorries and vans all day long constantly going off.

I was passing the other day and witnessed it flashing a fella in an artic sat on the limiter.

Watch your backs folks, it knows the difference between a car and a truck et al.

If the OP is the registered keeper of the van then yes, if not then there is a 6 month limit
