Hauliers from around Lancaster & Surrounding area's

On a different note I saw two wagons from the Lancaster area today although not technically a hauliers. The owner Yappie was polishing yet another Scania despite his own two being parked alongside. What an asset this man must be to an employer.

Where did we go wrong at Bewick Transport then when JR worked for us ? Bewick.

ok dennis i would not normally say this in public i was to young and daft it was your fault you should have given me a guy big j with a 180 gardner not a 240 that might have calmed me down!!!please put your comments below dennis :open_mouth:    :unamused:

Fair play John, you certainly have become a self made man. Having a rough time with Dennis, must have made you more determined to succeed.
Cheers Dave.

Less of the “soft soaping” Renegade!!! If you had been inflicted what we were with at Bewick Transport you’d sure have a different slant on it I’ll tell you!! Rough time? JR never had or will ever have a Job like he had at Bewick’s he was just not able to recognise the fact at that time!! What I should have done was when the Vet came to geld one of our colts I should have got him to take JRs stones off!!! That would have defo stopped his gallop and Bewick’s would have gained a very sensible, quiet, hard working driver and he would have been driving 450 Scania no doubt about it Garanteed!!! Dennis.

Unfortuately Mart most of these firms don’t have an archivist like you to compile their photos if indeed there are many to archive! Dennis.

Here are a couple of SJ Bargh tankers, sometimes you just have to know which are theirs because there is nothing to tell you. A sign has gone up on Caton Road in Lancaster, next door to M. Woodhouse and Kidds, saying that the site has been acquired by Barghs but whether it is to replace Caton or for overspill I don’t know. The other 2 are from Morecambe / Heysham firms.

I did some work for Tim Butler when I had my Leyland Bison and he was great to work for, I really enjoyed my time there. There used to be another plant firm on White Lund that closed in the 80s but I can’t remember the name now. The trouble with my photos is that they do not go back very far. I remember Rankins starting up in Heysham and knew some of the drivers that went on there. Apparently he only took on tipper drivers because they knew how to graft. That’s what they told me anyway.

Regarding the Caton road site, this is to replace as the caton site, as bargh’s are now ‘‘to big’’ for the caton site, and acording to sources close to me, the company should be operating out of there by spring 2011. Thats the plan atm anyway.
