Post script to my Malcolm Woodhouse blog ----No7 was MW,s lucky number so the Sed Atk must have been special to have been allocated fleet No7 but Iam certain it would not have been fitted with a RR265 or there would have been flying pigs in the shot as well !!!

They must be still on the go, I follow a Woodhouse tipper lorry into Red Scar Business Park most mornings, they tip in the Tarmac batching plant, too dark to get a picture. If any one on this Lancaster thread is interested the Long Haul Club meets at The Boddington Pavillion, Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, on the old A6 north of Preston this coming Saturday the 21st Nov at 1900hrs post code PR3 0AE All members and guests are invited to attend, a hot pot supper will be served and the guest speaker Tony Hawkridge will give a talk on "Lorries of the 40’s 50’s and 60’s The Long Haul club was founded in 2005 by transport enthusiasts, a good place to meet fellow lorry buffs, chat tell tall tales and smell the diesel fumes. regards Big Al

Hi All
Is David Bradshaw still operating & does anyone know of Tiny who drove for him in the 80s I think he went to run a pub in Kirkby Lonsdale.
Cheers Rich

Big Al:
Don’t know if this Ferrymaster Scammell is regarded as Lancs Haulier ?
There surely was a lot of them around this area. Taken Sunday 18th at the Leyland Commercial Museum prior to start of Road Run
regards Big Al

Ferrymasters (Ireland) was a constituent of Pandoro, the other part being Northern Ireland Trailers. When I started at Pandoro in 1976, there was still one of these Trunkers in use as an MOT shunter. I don’t think it was this one, but I can’t be sure. The ex-FM motors had Ipswich reg. plates on them, although the head office for FM was Altrincham.

I remember ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Atki ‘Silver Knight’ FBJ 13J being one of them - that was later moved on to yard shunting at Yeadon, and was even painted in the new corporate P&O livery for the job.

Here you go Al. I believe there are half a dozen of these new Mercs but this is the only one I have seen yet, just outside Red Scar. I was at the LHC meeting and can confirm that it was indeed a good evening, I have spoken to a few who were there and all have positive comments.

Hi Rich,
Just been talking to David Bradshaw.
Cheers Malc

I’m afraid that my pictures don’t go back far enough to be as interesting as the Lunesdale Farmer’s Commer but I think these are all from the A65 route if the Bradshaw is the David Bradshaw referred to in this thread. they were taken on the A65. Redmaynes are from Lupton and Wilsons from Endmoor. These were all taken in 2006

No photos of M Gory & Son from Morecambe on here yet.He had a depot on white lund ind est from 1986 is he still operating doe’s anyone know.He used to run a fleet of Volvo’s if I remember right.

Be careful what you ask for.

Nice one truckfing.Do you know how many he’s running these days.

No Idea how many, there are a few running with Tesco trailers, some on Heysham Docks work and a couple of rigids I think on pallet work. They are normally blue, that was the first white one I’ve seen.

I had never associated the 2 companies, just thought that Russell Cargo had faded away as companies sometimes do.

thanks for them  russell cargo did subbying for total cargo who are a belfast company and which later took over russell cargo. stevie russell still runs the heysham depot . total just carried on using the same type of livery only in blue and white.
