Hatos should they be banned from the forums

after the diary abuse what does everyone think

You can’t tar them all with the same brush, maybe it’s better they get the opportunity to publically air their differences and leave it at that rather than force them out of things and aggravate them.

It just strikes me that perhaps some people would not be content with that and would find other more direct ways of making trouble.

their part of the job
same as old bill and vosa

Why do you want them banned, is it because you didn’t like their replies and you want your own way with what is said?
I thought the forum was for discussions?
From some of what I have read maybe it’s the drivers that should be banned, they have been abusive too?

So in a nutshell if you don’t like the replies you solve this by banning them. What Country are you living in?

I better watch out you may want me banned. or should we “kiss and make up” as you said in a previous post?

Thought this was a drivers for drivers web site not just HGV or C+E or Class 1,2,3 7.5t or what ever you want to call it
Therefore should you prevent a member from joinging who does’nt have a licence( been band from driving ) teh has no licence or as in not taken the test or even to the point anyone lost their entitelement due to age or ill health should not be able to join in ■■
We have a member her who by his own admision who is only 15 are we to ban him ■■ or encourage him ■■

I try to remain dignified and distance myself from the heated arguments, as it puts my chosen profession in a bad light. I’m sorry if the actions of a couple of fellow HATO’s has upset you lads/lasses. I can remain in the background, not get involved in the threads and answer any queries by PM if that’s the general consensus of opinion :frowning:

I don’t believe it is the general consensus of opinion - the poll so far shows 4 to 1 in favour of HATOs staying

I agree with the comments made so far in this thread.

No need to ban them .
They get a discussion going even if it is based on assumptions.

HATO’s have a job to do and a lot of it may be of interest to us. What I was concerned about was Mr Parr collecting evidence to enhance his standing with his mates on the HATO site. No doubt if I had a black cat he’d have a blacker one, if I could run the mile in 4 minutes, he could do it in 2 minutes… I’m pleased to see this excuse for mankind has now been suspended for a month. I can only assume he wanted to be a traffic warden and was rejected. I did vote ‘no’, as I’m sure Mr Parr is the exception and not representitive of HATO’s in general.

Tiger

i voted no becuase some of the HATO’s on here are nice blokes. they laugh about things the same as we do, they give thier point of view on matters like we do and dont become the local traffic preacher (most of the time  )

we all have a point to put and some do it a different way to others, yes mr parr was a bit of an idiot (IMO) but so what? do you not have idiots where you work? we do and i just ignore them, they dont talk to me anymore and its great! no he shouldnt have put the pics on the HATO website but as has been said some people like to do this to look good to others and its childish and stupid.

slightly off topic but i like the diaries that get put up. they give me and other newbies an incite into what we might come across in the future and as long as there wasnt an accident or put any lives in danger then so what, live and let live.

I too enjoy the diaries, and suspect that the way the argument was started could have been worded a different way to prevent the argument starting in the place, for instance, nice photos, please be careful taking them, I wouldn’t like to see you get rollocked etc by the police, that would have done it instead of posting pictures of the poor family from the RTC. It’s not big and it’s not clever

I voted no. Apart from a couple of unbalanced individuals they do seem an amiable bunch, though even the couple in question certainly liven things up a bit  .

its all well a good a bit of heated discussion, but when it goes down so low that certain members feel the need to report people to their employers for something that THEY dont like or agree with then the site loses a big part of its appeal to me and im sure many others too!!!

I know you are going to be shocked but I actually agree with you. It is naughty blabbing to the boss over an article on an internet forum. I certainly don’t condone it. I’ve seen some very dodgy driving on the motorway, if I was to phone every company to complain about a very small minority of all classes of driver, my phone bill would be massive!!

I don’t think HATO’s should be banned,
The HATO’s on this site can make a valuble contribution, they are doing a different job which can effect us and no doubt can educate and inform as well as joining in with the debate. The same would go for VOSA and the Poilce.
It shoudln’t be them and us, we are all out there doing a job and the more we exchange information the better that could be for all of us.

Sadly a couple of the HATO’s on this site have decided to become Judge Dread characters, no doubt due to personal issues about power and control within thier own lives.
They seem to thick to realise that the best way to give advice to people is with a bit of humour, respect and a smile, gets you a lot further.
But then there are also truck drivers on this site who are the feel that they know everything and responed to every thread with a houlier then thou attitude.
:unamused:

I think all members, Truck drivers, HATO’s and Fred down the road should be warned if personal attacks start like it did in the other post. In my personal opinion the comments from both sides went way too far!!

If people can learn to respect each other and how they choose to live their lives then none of this would have happened.

Hmmm, dangerous ground this talk of restricting a certain groups personal freedoms. If I remember correctly some little Austrian house painter advocated the same back in the 1930’s. I seem to remember he was quite successful for a while, but then two members of another forum a Mr Churchill and Mr Roosevelt took exception to his comments and redecorated his country.

Anyway, I quite like the way certain HATO’s make that pretty vein stad up on my forehead!!

i voted no, and agree with what muckles said

I voted no

a forum is a discussion platform why ban a group of forum members would that defeet the object of a forum

The total purpose of an open forum is to DEBATE issues.

Sure, people will have opposite views, but thats life. The problem comes when individuals take it upon themselves to be a little over excited about things and it gets out of control.

Taking a discussion from this site to another should not be allowed though, unless its PURELY for reference only.
