I haven’t started mine because I hope to win the lotto before 2019.
I’ll be 50 odd and I really don’t want to drive trucks till I’m 67.
I’ve never been asked to show my present card yet?

Showed my card for the first time today at ainley top check site , no probs except my o licence disc said Wi41 and not W141 although it was a proper I that looks just like a one ,the nice man said it happens quite often .
Im on 28hrs
The punishment is nearly over. I don’t want to show off but one of my days was half a NVQ Level 2 in van driving.
Did two lessons/modules or whatever they’re calling them last week. Not too bad considering one of the day’s fell on my overtime day. Kerching.
I’m on 14hrs and they’ve got me booked in for another 14hrs this coming Monday and Tuesday. 2 days in a row…send help
Have done all 35 hours as I was unable to work for 3 months as I broke my shoulder so thought I would put the time to good use. Have checked on line for card and read it will be sent nearer the time.
Did another 7 hours last week. Upto 28 now
21 hours done, part of my recent ADR package.
Think I’ve done 14 hrs so far and apparently the next 7 hrs will be done next month. A working day off the road and in the classroom, unlike the last place I worked where it was on a Sunday and we had the privilege of paying it ourselves. [emoji35]

No, I don’t plan to do it, I’ll just pack the job in instead. There is no way I am going to spend another £350 and another week in a classroom learning what type of driving licence I would need to ride a moped or drive an invalid carriage. The whole thing is a complete and total con designed to provide employment for otherwise unemployable DCPC trainers who, in the massive majority of cases, have never done the job and do not have a clue what they are talking about. If there truly was a driver shortage, then we wouldn’t be expected to have to sit through this ■■■■■■■■.
14 hours, only because the company pay for it in work time. Optimistic that I won’t be driving beyond 2019 but never hurts to cover all bases, just in case…
I’m 7 hours in. After enduring 35 hours I’m determined to stick to 1 per year
My thoughts entirely. That’s why I packed in on DCPC day.

Popped off premises for a smoke today and got chatting to a couple of other bods and one piped up he was a DCPC instructor and the convo turned to daily checks… fella was adamant that your tacho should show 15 minutes of other work for daily checks before you start driving or you could get an £850 fine if stopped by dvsa? I did ask if that was C+E, he said it doesn’t matter.
Blind leading the blind came to mind.
Done either two or three sessions, easy day poncing about and another box ticked, didn’t learn anything useful but so what.
So if you collect your unit in your yard drive round to get your trailer you need 30 of other work before you even think about securing your load
I’ve done 2 x 7 hour segments so far, the firm arranges and pays me for my (reluctant) presence and the courses themselves.
We do one a year.
