Has anyone ever built one, sold one when new, repaired one,DRIVEN one,or at least seen one or possibly got a photo (side view) showing the 8 potter sticking out the rear of the cab .
This was my first post on the matter and a very simple straight forward one at that ! nowhere in the post did I dispute the fact that there were, indeed, some Big J’s that had the 8LXB engine fitted. Cheers Dennis.

I hold my hands up on that one Dennis. There is a Smith of Maddiston website and the bloke did promise to send a picture which didn’t materialise.I had no interest in whether there was or was not a Guy Big J with an 8LXB until David Edwards mentioned to me that they used to have one.
Then I became interested and pics were posted by myself and Kingswinford Kit,but you all said you had to see one of the back of the cab.
I believe David Edwards and I have spoken to Mike Holloway who drove it,so I know they existed,as many of SOM drivers have insisted all along.
Cheers DDave.

Could be ex.Machins of Stoke a firm who ran steel from BSC Gartcosh in the 80s
New to Fordhouse transport of Wolverhampton who mothballed it for several years and never registered it, bought by Thomas Ingles, W-ton who registered it as new in 84 and added the sleeper. Think it then went to Scotland before the present owner got it.
