hiya,
Dennis I know you can make a canny job of roping and sheeting,
but this job entails being able to load and unload the dishwasher.
thanks harry, long retired.

Harry,
I might be loading the dishwasher later but I’ll probably get the cold shoulder
Well actually lads the loading, but not always the unloading,is my job in our abode,!!When I first took on the job it took me a while to figure out that it didn’t need Sheeting and roping !!!.Oh! and “H” I pointed out to my eldest granddaughter the house you were born in on the Quay, which she now calls “The crooked house”,now I just couldn’d recall for her what folks were called that had been born on The Quay at Lancaster,we’re out to lunch to-morrow so if you can tell me I’ll pas it on !! I told her that I knew someone who was born in the “Crooked house” but I knew for a fact that he wasn’t “bent” !! Cheers Dennis.

what’s all this talk about dishwashers then ? if she got one of those it could be the thin end of the wedge . next thing she’d be wanting a washing machine and then a spin dryer . we have a perfectly good dolly tub and a mangle and they don’t use any electric . she has spent all my wages up to 1990 already , where would it end . cheers , dave

Dave I hope you are maintaining the washboard and posser in good
working order and I hope you still make her whitestone the step.

no steps at our bungalow , disabled ramps ( already there when we moved in ) but i did get her a tin of white paint to do the sides so poeple wouldn’t trip over them . i do let her borrow my jet wash to clean the back garden flags down though , i’m getting very generous in my old age . cheers , dave
having worked for dutton transport (whalley) for a while in the 60s .they had a guy or two and we always said in the garage, no two alike.give me the old leylands anytime for economy and reliability.regards,jack.
One thing I notice on this unit is that there does not appear do be a large exhaust fitted to it , & in previous postings emphasis has been made on exhaust size on ones supposedly fitted with this engine
well iam just reading the january 2014 issue of classic & vintage commercials on page 45 peter davies has done a rite up about the GUY BIG J they talking about engine options they is no mention of the big 8 pot percy
A '76 shot of some units parked at the fron’t of the workshops, one of them being a new 8LXBigJ identical to the SOM unit in the previous post, well they look identical to me judging by the rear engine cowlings Bewick.
