Great news conivirus

All agency on paye are going to
Get 80% of there wages paid for
By the government for sitting at
Home

We’re flat out, you’re going to be very lucky to manage to be at an agency where none of its clients need drivers.

More great wisdom from it, He’s taught us how to tramp, the best company in the World to work for,now employment law,

Thank gawd Dippers back.

Nice, think of all them pot noodles you can keep buying now

The country will soon be full of hungry lunatics like you who think this is true. If you take the time to actually read the official line you’d understand that the Gov are going to pay people who’ve been made redundant as a result of this virus. Do you think that agencies will make drivers redundant or merely not offer them shifts?

Dopey was working for “the Logistics People” so he’ll believe anything that they tell him

RDCs cant get enough Drivers to get stuff out the door, your Agency must be crap if your looking to sit at home

My agency would have to. In order to get around the 12 weeks parity pay rule of the agency workers regs the way my agency did it is they got those of us on PAYE to sign employment contracts guaranteeing us 10hrs a week. So their choices are to either pay us 10hrs and not get anything back from government, pay 80% of our average wage and get it reimbursed or make us redundant.

I hate to be THAT guy, but…sitting home for 80% of pay I’ll take that; however I’m still working 4 days a week for …that’s right, about 80% of my regular pay (actually less because lower rate on 7.5t/C2). I can’t get laid off as I have no full time contract, the agency will just keep drip feeding me a shift here and there so I can’t claim redundancy due to CoViD and will have to supplement my weekly expenses with ££ from my savings which are going to decrease in real terms because they’re going to print hundreds of billions of £££ to give to people and businesses

Until last week I considered myself ‘lucky to still have a job’ but now that people are getting paid 80% of their regular ‘pay package’ without producing anything, I feel like a dumbass working here while everyone else in non-essential businesses is getting the same money for staying home watching ■■■■ :grimacing:

Btw how are supermarkets going to find 16,000 new staff if people are getting paid to not work, lol…■■ Who’s gonna dump their 80% pay for stay-at-home to go work in a cold warehouse for £8.20 p.h. and expose themselves and their family to an increased risk of getting the C-thing?

Has anyone employed by a company done this?and how long does pay last. Etc
And what you do. Just go in say im.going off sick?do you need a sicknote or some kind of form?

As am seriously tempted. Am not overly worried but better be safe than maybe regret it.
We do mostly building sites some general haulage . So don’t have sit about in waiting rooms etc.
Although works slow at min

As I understand it … after all that ■■■■ you have wrote.

The government will pay 80% of wages to people that work for companys forced to shut, so bars, nightclubs, gyms etc and have the intention of staying open.

The process works in that the company pays the 80% to their employee and then claim it back from the government.

So stay at home and go down the dole on Monday and ask them for your 80% and let us know how you get on

If any person or business try’s to turn this situation to the own advantage for personal gain, then they should be jailed for life in the most horrendous conditions imaginable.

Firstly, the government will only pay the promised 80% to employees of companies forced to close as a result of this pandemic.
Secondly, this doesn’t apply to self-employed or those on zero hour contracts, such as those issued by agencies.
Sorry guys, guess it’s back to work or sit at home and get paid ■■■■ all.

Guys, the 80% is a grant from HMRC to pay employees that are still on the books, but taking unpaid leave, if you are made redundant, i.e., sacked, you will not get it, it is only for employees that are still employed,
