Government plans to ban lorries at rush hour

I personally don’t have a problem with any of these proposals, whether it be NIMBY weight limits, or total ban from London. There’s ultimately only going to be one outcome, when reality and ideology clash, and reality usually has its own way in the end.

If they ever got anywhere near implementing that, you can absolutely guarantee that it would be the biggest ■■■■ up since Alfred burnt the cakes :grimacing:

Hope they do it. Infact hope they ban artics totally. Any move that stops them sending me to that hellhole gets a thumbs up from me.

All these changes done whilst Boris is the mayor… Good or bad
Watch the S#it fly when he becomes PM !!
Lord have mercy…

I would say, bring this in the sooner the better. And then extend it to no HGVs between 7am till 9pm. in fact, the more restrictions the better. Because eventually, all hauliers will just say “enough” and not take anything into London at all because its not cost effective or worth the hassle. At that point, maybe the anger from people who suddenly find their shops are constantly having empty shelves or they struggle to get deliveries will be directed to the powers that be who pandered to one group so much they lost sight of the big picture.

As above^^^. Beautifully put.

Ban all lorries in London at all times is my view. I give it 24 hours before the ■■■■■■■ are complaining, and 48 hours before total chaos. It’s a place I would happily never visit again.

Do any other " CAPITAL CITIES ! :unamused: " have this problem? :grimacing: I’ve delivered all over Europe, Scandinavia and eastern bloc with no problem! :unamused: maybe we’re catching up the " thick Americans? " I hope they implement this forthwith  ■■■■ the cockerknees < insert favourite foreign slang name here ! > :grimacing:

Put the idea on previously. Satellite warehousing on the M25 outskirts RDC’s as somebody said, and let Boris ( ‘’ Top Plug ‘’ statement on Top Gear ) do the rest.

And a mega wind farm off the coast off Essex will secure supplying ‘’ the smoke ‘’ and will charge his battery-powered 7.5 tonners to the city from the RDC’s.

Job sorted…

A certain Julius Caesar banned carts in ancient Rome during the hours of daylight and look how it turned out for him :smiling_imp:

Aye. He invaded Britain too & gave it straight roads ( relatively ) . The idea that a straight road is safer than one with corners has fallen back to the years B C by today’s driving standards…

Julius was thinking ahead and built straight roads so the Asians could not open corner shops.

Fixed that for you.

George Galloway was on radio London Thursday morning and stated that if he became mayor of London there would be no hgvs or delivery vehicles in London during daylight hours.

If that [zb] had his way he’d probably bring Sharia Law in the waste of oxygen.

actually , he of the infamous hat

has declared that cycle lanes will be removed as they impede mohammedists from praying as they struggle to park outside their places of bombmaking , erm i mean worship .

The SWP and open borders are now debating their response to the statement.

Why don’t they just shift London to the Yorkshire Dales as that’s quite a quiet relaxed area ?

“Yeah, apart from that what have the Romans ever done for us”?

Won’t happen, even if it did I don’t care. If they did do it you would never get owt delivered, can’t go in at night, can’t do rush hour. They would soon change there tune when the baked beans ran out and had nowt to wipe there bums clean.

SteveBarnsleytrucker:
What is “rush hour” in London anyway? I’ll always thought it was from about 7:00 until about 19:00 in the God forsaken [zb] :unamused:

Driving around the M25 corridor as I do on a daily basis - I’d argue that “London” starts when the commuter traffic gets going at around 04:30 and ends when the last stragglers get home around 20:30.

Driving between 21:00 and 04:00 then - is bliss for night drivers like myself. It is one of the main reasons I’ve done so many years ON nights!

Have to admit I enjoyed doing nights into London whilst limping for Fresh Direct.
