looks like Dennis had a bit of a gut starting there ■■■■.

It’s in the genes, Dan. At least that’s Dennis’ excuse.

more in the shirt than the jeans lol.

But you have to admit, it’s a bl**dy good belt! No scrimping on equipment at Milnthorpe!

Yep we yorkshire men could only load and sheet wool

Hi Ramone, right hang on to your tin hat, it’s funny you don’t see many skilful loads over the hill, maybe they get vertigo over four feet high,

Hi Bewick, just found a pic/ref to your Whippet in a book I got, she named Judy, got a soft spot for our 4 legged friends myself, I got 4 gun-dogs  . Regards Chris

Thanks for the post on my dog Chris, she was a great companion I got her when I was still at school in early '63,she more-less went every where with me and travelled every mile I did in the D1000,she was 2 year old when I got her, paid 1 shilling for her at about mid-night one night :sunglasses: She was the pick of the litter when she was born,at The Strickland Arms on the A6 south of Kendal.I sadly had to take her to be put to sleep in late '75 at14 year old so the next new motor I had delivered was given the fleet name “Judy”,an ERF “A” Series into service Jan 1st '76,and it was one of my favourites and gave us excellent service over the years ending up as the yard tractor used by our trailer/tyre fitter.Cheers Dennis.

Hi Dennis, been off for a while, comp probs, caught up with you and your dog, 12 year ago i lost my two collies within 6 mounth of each outher, yr after i had heart problem and los leicence, wife tricked me into a rescue dog, turnd out to be a WHIPPIT X. Black in couler. Absolute GEM, got me through tough time, i have some catching up to do, and enjoy reading yours and every bodys times of past, Keep taking the easy start, cheers mick

Not exactly full size sheeting and roping but this is my attempt on a 1:50th scale model. I thought “I do sheeting and roping at work. It cant be any more difficult on a model than for real?” I was wrong!!! Sheets are made of tissue coated with watered down PVA. The load is ment to represent, ironically, a load of tissue reels. This is a model of an F10 my grandad drove. Eric Poss wouldnt be happy tho Dennis as the hitches arent in line.

I reckon that’s a pretty good effort there, matey. Although obviously not to Milnthorpe standards!

I’ve got to compliment you Steve on the accurate job you have made of Holmseys sheets, they look about spot on from what I recall :unamused: Cheers Dennis.

Steve, I knew shunters (as well as journeymen) who made a bigger balls up than that!! Very good effort, do you want a start■■? Regards Kev :unamused: :unamused:

Brill firm, but I’m not quite so sure about the fly sheet :open_mouth:

One of my efforts (from today as it happens), ~7 tonne of MDF cut to custom dimensions. Knock yourselves out.

(Actually there were good reasons it looks like this - I’d turned up at the drop, undone the tarp and pulled the straps out from underneath only to be told they wanted the stuff taken round the corner to another factory, so I just threw the straps over the top. Yes yes, I know, a cardinal sin)
