Scanialady, you, along with many others are better than this place…It really is the worst forum I go on and I go on lots of them....Boats, canoes, BMW, Mercedes, Jag, Mack, Buell, Rhodesian Ridgebacks....And a Pilots forum, this one is by far the most small minded, petty place on the net....Shame really, as it could be so much better, but I guess we are looking at a small cross section of the industry.....Thank god. It is probably the reason why I dont buy the magazine too…It really is negative PR for a driver that has a brain.All the best to you, you have always said it how it is…Not many left these days

Much to everyone’s disgust, I have never threatened to leave. I haven’t really stopped posting much as it would mean “They Had Won”
However I do have issues with someone who trawls through the obituaries and stories of doom and then contacts the remaining family

I see a similar pattern in Smashed Crab Faces posts, we have all seen fatal accidents, most of us just log it in our mind and head off to the next job, not dwell on something from months or weeks ago!

She runs the lady truckers club, which offers support to truckers in times of trouble, particularly lady truckers.

I’m not knocking the lady at all.
My point is that, bearing in mind your reply, should you not be slightly concerned that someone ( in this case, Scanialady142…but there have been others) that you admit you know has done the job for years and is perfectly capable at it, while also running the Lady Truckers Club, chooses to leave this site because of bigotted remarks?
I don’t go on other forums so I have no idea what others are like but there seems to be a very divided camp - one side says here is great and moderation is good, the other says bigotted remarks etc is driving them away, never to return.
I know that admin have recently introduced the hardline approach and I appreciate users will fluctuate - thats just the way of the world - but surely the bigots need a lot more control, don’t they?? Although I’m not about to chuck my teddies out, I do get fed up with some of the childish nonsense on here but I’m more cheesed off when contributors with vastly more experience and expertise than me feel that they cannot stay here! There has to be something fundamently wrong, surely?

Have we all seen fatal accidents? I know that a lot of my colleagues haven’t, even the ones that have been in this game for 20+ years.
I suppose it depends on how you define “seen”. Seeing it happen on the opposite carriageway or seeing videos/pictures on the internet is one thing, but actually standing on the tarmac amongst the wreckage and casualties is another thing all together.
To stand next to a man as he emerges from what used to be his car and the awful moment when he realises his little girl is trapped in the wreckage, crushed to death, cannot be described with words and cannot be understood by those that haven’t experienced it.
I haven’t been to war or anything, my only experience of death until that night was watching elderly grandparents slip away natuarally and peacefully in their sleep. I wish I was as mentally strong as you and could just “log it in my mind”, but I can’t.
Seven months I’ve been “dwelling on it” now, I’ve had professional help and it hasn’t done jack ■■■■. I would be grateful if you could reveal the secret to “logging it in your mind and heading on to the next job” because I’m struggling with that if I’m honest and would appreciate your help.
Although this may appear tongue in cheek, it is not. Fact is, women are running on hormones, you can say something to them on one day and it will be fine, say the same thing the day after and there will be floods of tears or a major hissy fit

Finally I’ve never announced im leaving in a big dramatic way. I just stop posting. I still pop on and read, and I still put my side when some dimwit questions me.
So there you go, exactly the same? No obviously not. Maybe I’ll be back posting maybe I won’t. Right now its won’t. Even Coffeeholic and RobK dont post anymore. The fun is sadly missing these days to be replaced with halfwits.
