Say’s Gloucester on the door.
I get to see something Downtons every so often, as we have a Pets at Home place down the road from us.When i used to get down i could always tell i was getting near to Gloucestershire, as Downtons, Edgwicks, Ralph Davies, and various Gilder trucks and Arthur Sprigg sightings became more prevalent.
PS: They weren’t the only ones from Gloucestershire but they spring to mind.

I myself think that Gloucestershire is a good county.

It certainly wasn’t made for “warmer climes”, Dave.

Which doesn’t use as much paint as Moreton Vallance, plus the sign writer would charge by the letter

I worked for Ralph Davies in the late eightys & the 90’s. some good times amongst the hard times.
Hi saxonhorse, great pic that where was it taken , looks familiar to me but cant quite place it ? regards Keith .
I can’t remember if I’ve posted this before but it’s certainly Old and a Gloucestershire firm, mind you it could go equally as well in the Blood Sweat and Broken finger nail thread.
Back to the days when steamers were running the roads of Gt. Britain and covering great distances not long after the only transport on those roads was pulled by horses or Oxen…
Also from 1924 a DAY trip to Wembley to see the British Empire Exhibition. My Father is sat next to the driver, my uncle is just behind him with his arm trailing down and GrandFather is sat in the back corner with the flat hat.

I often wondered why Harold Read never had any of those Motor Panels cabbed ERF’s, I don’t know if there was much difference in price between them and others available?..
