Sounds intriguing…
I managed to get down for the break saw a few good people I know.On the way down saw what seems like a million Downton trucks.Only problem i had coming down was it seemed that every vehicle with a foreign number plate seemed to be on a mission to get back home for the break, coming down the 4 lane section of the M1 being overtaken on the hard shoulder by a couple of them at an indicated 77-80 mph was mmm interesting to say the least.
Well, did a fair bit of reminiscing with Hummin ■■■■■■■ and his family.
Yer’s what he describes as a “One Day, Maybe” project.
You’ll note the grass growing around it! More from the area on Pics of Forest of Dean thread.

Hi ROF, How many is Harold running these days ? regards Keith .
Does anyone remember Winget Dumpers from Gloucester, a company I worked for from Coventry, had 2 motors on contract there in the early 70’s , I think Peter Ford was in there at the same time. I remember they had an old Flintstone Mack parked in the yard. Muir Hill was the name on the side.
Hi, Keith, four at the moment with his sons and grandson.
Dieseldog, As I recall, Winget were in part of the old wagon works, or to be exact, The Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company on Bristol Road, almost opposite what used to be the England’s Glory match factory. Winget and Muir-Hill (or Muriel, as some of my acquaintance called them) had amalgamated some time before.
Coincidentally, my family and I were in another part of the same factory complex over the Christmas period when I was forced to prove that, “Old racers are still racers” on the Karting track.

You obviously don’t know me as well as you think you do!
I wasn’t sure where to put this so here it is…Has anyone read these press write ups?..I thought they were interesting…
I remember those horns of Phil’s. The first time I heard them was passing him going Eastbound on the old Severn bridge (I was empty!). Nearly made me jump clean out of the cab.
They’re still there…
Wonder if they’d work on a Berlingo van.
