Apparently there’s a vintage show at Speech House this Sunday. If anyone can take a camera, I’m sure there are those on here who would be extremely grateful for any pics.
And it’s as good an excuse as any for bringing God’s Own County back onto the front page!
I’ll get me coat
Hi ROF , will there be much in the way of old lorries ? I bet Roger Marfell will be in attendance . regards Keith
No idea about this one, matey. It’s a new one on me but if I’d known I would have braved the M5/M6 to have a look and meet some of the local guys on here. Definitely be down next year if it’s an annual event.
Roger Marfell- there’s a blast from the past!
Plenty of lorries Keith, if you look on Google they have a website.
Cheers Dave.
Thaks for that Dave , will now have a look at that . Will you be there ? regards Keith .

Not really my type of venue Keith, its on grass. We hope to be at Gaydon the following Sunday.
Cheers Dave.
Thanks for the link ROF,just looked at some of the pictures from last year.I went to school with Roger Marfell. He has that old ex RR duggie parked on the green outside his house. Well he did have about a year ago.
A few Gloucestershire snippets; Northleach steam and vintage rally on today and tomorrow.
Also heard yesterday that Cullimores’ were running short of ground at Roundhouse Farm Quarry. I think recycled aggregates will be a lot more common soon…

Anyone remember these, ran Kempsford Quarry before the Earthline takeover?
Didnt they have a quarry nr Shellingford?,not far from what is now Earhlines place.
Think multi agg was started by Cliff Puffett and was one of the first to do the bulk bags.
Yers some photo’s of some of the vast collection of DavidPaul.Glosmintrucks (I think I’ve got that right). They had part of their collection at Speech House show today…Always enjoy talking to them and asking questions about anything to do with local lorry firms both modern or years ago…Hope I do them justice…

Shellingford quarry is now Earthlines’ along with the ex Sands and Gravels pit nearby at Hatford. Kempsford is worked out now, and I think tipping’s finished there (it still has a tick box on the muck tickets but I’ve not seen “tip at Kempsford” on the worksheets.

What a collection , some talented chap can remember the Lydney plywood Commer . Was Roger Marfell at Speech house , inoted his Mandator on the back of his ERF yesterday in his yard . regards Keith
No Keith I didn’t see Roger or his truck there. Perhaps there was something else on. A few people I talked to mentioned that they hadn’t seen him either…
What a great collection, well photographed, matey. Thank you for reminding me of some local liveries. The GMR Atki with the bulker full of car body scrap is modelled on the one I used on the coal convoy during the Arthur/Maggie argument.
I also think these models are great.I worked on the Atki of Richard Reads and the Albion unit of George Reads was an eight legger in an earlier life Reg no was LYN ■■?
ME Paul or Kingswinfordman,Has Roger Marfell still got his yard at Denehurst? And are Bradleys tippers still kept in the old Marfell Bros Ruardean Glos yard?
