Gloucestershire Firms

birds eye walls (brs gloucester contract) driven by an inexperenced agency driver who rolled this 3300 coming off the M4 onto the M25 southbound on his way to brooklands. tacho read 62 mph when it went over (loaded)

Not strictly on thread, but I felt justified in including this because my Old Chap used a similar van to transport calves & pigs around the county. And to take the dairy cows’ milk from the Three Counties Show- when it was held at Staverton- to Cadbury’s depot at Frampton-on-Severn.

Now how the hell do I rotate the thing?

Maybe something like this?

Ta, Buttie.
Have you got software that I should have, or am I being really thick, as usual?
Before I had my new computer with this bl**dy awful Windows 8, I ran Windows XP which allowed me to rotate, zoom & crop my pics. This ■■■■ thing doesn’t do anything at all. And they call it “improvement”!

What can I say? Tried windows 8 and that’s why I’m back to windows 7. Xp was alright but I find 7 does it for me at the mo. I don’t think I’ve got anything exceptional with regards to software although I have tried and discarded a lot. I find that the simple and easy to use is normally the best as long as the end result is what you’re after.

Yers a well used Volvo at Cinderford…

paul, had a look at the yorkley timber erf and it is diferent.grill has 3 slots and wipers pivoting on left, colemans has 2 slot grill and wipers pivoting on right. same heavy duty towing pin member on front on both. i heard a rumour a while ago that the coleman erf is still up at ruardean.

Hi Bob, You must be busy cause I’ve not seen ya about very often. Yes I did notice the differences in the two trucks myself but they are basically the same model. Perhaps one was a deluxe and the other a GT?..Yers another…

I think I’m going to look into the possibility of retro-installing Windows XP on this thing.

Casey, somewhere on whichever place you are uploading your pics you should find some symbols looking like bent arrows.Click on those until your photo comes to the position you want.Or the symbols could look like overlapping squares.
Cheers Dave.

Nothing like that on Windows 8, Dave- just one “open” button and one “cancel” button. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I’ve had a chat with our brother and got some pictures of Yorkley Timber’s to look at. I don’t know how big a firm they were, he reckons they only had a few trucks. Heres one of an ERF LV…ps. Does anyone have any photo’s of Mike Prosser’s or H.S.Williams to share?

Yorkley Timber Company is still in existence, although these days they are into land development, not timber. As I recall, the boss’ name was Prosser, but that’s about all I know.

being a well heeled immigrant to our area , maybe you should look at ditching the whole windows thing and invest in an apple laptop . before the flak starts flying i will brag that my daughter is married to a designer at apple headquarters , ergo , free laptops and iPads when they visit . but seriously apple are streets ahead of the windows thingies with all the bells and whistles as standard . cheers , dave

Well thanks very much, Dave- I only bought the ■■■■ thing a couple of months ago! But if your family has any free samples of Apple product…

Why don’t you upload your pics through photobucket or tinypic Casey. You edit or resize them then off whatever version of windows you are using.
Cheers Dave.

A photobucket pic.

You’ve got yerself an idea there, Dave. I’ll have a gander at Photobucket, I think.
This could get confusing- all this decent advice from blokes called Dave!
