Yers a couple of old 'uns to be going on with. Don’t know where they came from…10
Hi Paul that is excellent the AEC Monarch at Joys Green especially thank you very much , and those Mammoth Majors bring back memories when they did tin plate and steel from Ebbw Vale . The sight and sound they made loaded going back to Joys Green was unforgetable thanks again Keith
Hi Keith, I didn’t know they were called an AEC Monarch. I can now update my info… I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that is restored or rallied (I may be wrong but I have been to my fair share of rallies). If anyone can supply any info on one it would be good to see. Anyway I’m glad to see this thread is still alive…ps. Are you the Keith that asked me for a disk of photo’s?. if so I’ve not forgotten…

Feel free to correct me but I reckon that’s Len Criddle at the wheel.
That’s a fantastic photo- sums up the period well.
I suppose nobody knows what happened to the fleet photo that was hung in The Lamb?

Yes I’m sure they are part of the same family, there is a sawmill still at Ruardean Hill but I’m not sure who owns it (I’m quite sure someone can shed some light on this). our brother got an old picture of Yorkley timber’s LV & I think it was virtually the same, I will try and get hold of it and see.
Thanks to oiltreader and Mark Hobbs for the photograph of Wm. Parry & Sons` DAF 75CF., W 402 SRH.
It appears that the driver shown is Michael Parry, prior to the DAF being sold last year to Robin Williams .
JT 02 JRT was the “younger sister” to SRH , and driven by Robin Harris until his retirement .
This DAF was also sold last year to another livestock haulier, - whose name I have forgotten.
Maybe Daphdriver will be able to fill the gap in my memory.
Photograph taken at Ross - on - Wye Auction, June 2012.

Hi Paul the sawmill is still there at Morgans Lane not sure who owns it now think it used to be owned by Colemans but that was a few years back now .
Roger Marfell still has a couple of Atkinsons and an LV unit in his yard nearby . regards Keith
paul, had a look at the yorkley timber erf and it is diferent.grill has 3 slots and wipers pivoting on left, colemans has 2 slot grill and wipers pivoting on right. same heavy duty towing pin member on front on both. i heard a rumour a while ago that the coleman erf is still up at ruardean.
