Dont think I would be offered that position , as I think of the position I have been in on numerous occasions and I could never do to someone which I would never like being done to me . hope that answers you
gasman:
Not a hope in hell, have a couple of pals went down the tubes over the years , 1 man band affairs , 6 days away, next day doing repairs and books, vat, tax no thanks

Why don’t they just sack them, which would immediately lead to a safety improvement on the roads as the majority drive like ■■■■■ these days, and give the jobs to people who want to work?
couldnt agree more anyone that lives near the kingsbury terminal and has to use junction 10 of the m42 will proberly of lost count of the times a tanker driver has cut them up or pulled out on them to or from the terminal,to be a tanker driver you need an adr cert and an ego the size of the truck your paid to drive they drive like they think theyre invincible
Carl, they have also been told they must be at the next drop as on the computer tells them, just like the fridge boys but, only that bit faster

The tanker driver that would get somewhere before me with a load of hanging in the fridge hasn’t been born.
Think of the tanker driver’s children!
And the point is ----

It’s a joke, there is no point. Much like this strike that may or may not happen.
Exactly, tory propaganda , so whats new . why all the ■■■■ about drivers and their conditions.LET US UPSET THE MAINSTAY OF THE ECONOMY . as I have said before , the tory goverment are trying to turn the attention to this (potential strike ) BECAUSE of the issues in goverment at this particular time . LETS HAVE UNREST AMONG THE WORKERS. ENOUGH SAID We all know who supports this country but ---------WE DO NOT HAVE THE BALLS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Again enough said -----unless you disagree !!!

Good to know at least that everything was perfect under Tony Liar and Golden Brown then comrade. Then again you wouldn’t strike against those you fund eh ■■? Naff all to do with anything but greed encouraged by a maniacal leader who thinks he can be a successful Scargill.
ADR, watched some cylinders being loaded onto a trailer once, Silane gas, auto ignition temperature -28 degrees C, spontaineously flammable in air, open the tap and its a flame thrower at 200 bars of pressure, dont think petrol or stobbys explosive diesel has these dangers. I wont be supporting them either.
OK GUYS , no answers so far, Lay my cards on the table…
20 yrs in petrol good job manic hrs glad to be out…retired
5 yrs in bulk gas delivery … great job laid back for the most of it …but stressful
14yrs fridge work any where …stressfull but not at the time lol. backin the 70’s
4yrs doin any thing that would improve my mind to what the job was about and any where I might be going, and those days London was a big, big place , as was the markets
billybigrig, tony was and is a TORY
just to put you strait comrade, I elected out of contributions to the LABOUR party some years ago as I did not agree on their polices
Marsden done that and much more, that is why ADR deserves more , you tell me more . What are these guys carrying tankers worth ?
Ok GUYS its after mid-night I know its all right with me , I know you have jobs to do but I would like your feedback be it good or bad , every one;s opinion counts . My opinion counts for nowt, only in your eyes , but in mine --timeless— thanks guys
Gasman, I now run my own fire protection company after being a HGV mechanic after leaving school then doing 14 years down the road, I still do a few days a year as a hobby as I do miss the job, not saying ADR is not dangerous and drivers should be rewarded for the responsibility but surely all the drivers at all the oil companies are not unhappy, far too many oil companies for this to be a coincidence, more of a bandwagon I think, would be interesting to know how many from each oil companies are striking, is it just BP drivers or just Shell drivers etc, if it is a mix then is it the responsibility of the so called unions stirring things up. All ADR is dangerous, they all have serious consequences if something goes wrong, so maybe all ADR should be recognized for the dangers it can present not just fuel. As in my previous post there are a lot more dangerous goods on the road than petrol. As for drivers sticking together, are they or is it the unions pressuring them? and telling them what to do, reminds me of the good old film Convoy. Now thats how to put a point accross
