Freightliner, you can keep the truck

How to quit a job - the Wayne way.
Arrive nice and calm at rail port (Freightliner).
Get told about issue with manlid cover off crane driver.
Go and close it, get told not to climb on tank in yard (already up there - and been up over 50 times in 4 mths in their yard).
Ignore crane driver and close manlid cover.
Crane driver ■■■■■ off and takes container off driver behind, then goes messing on the train.
Shout at crane driver that time is up at 7.30, so he’s got 5 mins to take the tank or I’ll drop trailer there.
5 mins later, drop trailer there.
Get to gate, refused exit due to dropping trailer, told they’ve got 5 mins to open gate or truck stays there.
5 mins later, truck stays there, phone boss, quit job, walk back to car.

Steady day then mate

Been a ■■■■ day all day, and no reducers, traffic went to hell, getting battered off the crap in the tank everytime some ■■■■■■■ decided my lane was going quicker because I had stopping distance between me and the car in front, and then that just topped it all off.

Nothing like a short journey … Car/truck/gate/car…

I think you’ve done the right thing mate!!!
Good luck in finding something new, when it gets you down like that the change is for the best

If only, my car was miles away, in hind-sight and a year ago before I became my current calm person, I would’ve just drove through the barrier after phoning the police.

How did your ex-boss take it??

If only there were more like us.

Not great to be honest, but when your time is up, and you’ve given plenty of warning, and you’re just in that mood anyway.

There used to be, it used to be an industry of people you didn’t ■■■■ with… Now they’re all like dogs, ‘roll over’…

There’s still a few, but not enough.

I’m not militant about ■■■■■■■■ things like some drivers, I know drivers that’ll sit on a bay with a container for 4hrs, not involved in the load in any way, and then pull out and take a 45 outside the gate. But I won’t take ■■■■ off anyone either, never have and never will.

Good on you.

Well done mate. Should’ve sat the crane driver on his arse and driven through the barrier

I keep saying I’ve mellowed with age, but when the red mist comes down…

Nothing according too our boss,it should be on poa for 4 hours then pull out drive for 4 hrs 30 and then have a break, but then according too him break doesn’t count towards reducing your WTD :unamused: :unamused: .
Or maybe he does know, and he’s a caring boss ,and he wants us too have more rest ,give him his dooes, stuck up for me and said if he wants 12 hrs daily rest he can   ,I’m starting too warm too him ,for now :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

Earlier this year went to a place to tip that went regular but they alway mest about getting you tipped we alway helped ( box trailer so pump truck to move pallets now didnt mind ) but what I did object to was tipping off card

On several occasions I did say how long I had left 1 day the manager got in back to help after I had explained

Then a change of managers & oh dear so got to the usual I got back in cab he came storming out with attitude all guns blazing but no I stuck to my guns his jumped up assistant though it was fine to speak to me like that emm no

Another lorry driver turned up all jumped up screamed that he was calling the police & they would drag me out of there as he couldnt deliver after a long discussion I did pull out of there yard it never happened again & that manager got moved as where I had collected from backed me up even if my boss at the time didnt

Oh & the other lorry driver thought it would be good if when he came out to blast his horn :unamused: silly man

They’ll be talking about that for weeks wayne  Another box job lined up?

well done m8 good for you more drivers need to get a backbone sure you will get another job soon

Lol, I did have, but won’t be able to go on boxes now, I’ll be banned from Freightliner for a LONG time for that…

I dumped the truck that i owned at Bordeaux airport in France and flew back to England for four days.
A two hour drive from Bordeaux is the Spanish border which was shut for a long weekend.
Shut from Thursday night until Monday night for trucks.
I had no idea the ban was on.
Once in England i rang my freight forwarder.
By the tone of the phone he knew i was in England and asked why i was not in the truck.
I flew back later. It worked out cheaper flying back.As not having meals out in France.

Kind of a bonus getting a ban in some places.

■■■■, I like the cut of your Jib. So many people think your bluffing when you say stuff like that to them. I never bluff either. If you ain’t gonna do it, don’t bloody say it.
