Sometimes its best to walk fella …better than going to jail for murder

How to quit a job - the Wayne way.
Arrive nice and calm at rail port (Freightliner).
Get told about issue with manlid cover off crane driver.
Go and close it, get told not to climb on tank in yard (already up there - and been up over 50 times in 4 mths in their yard).
Ignore crane driver and close manlid cover.
Crane driver [zb] off and takes container off driver behind, then goes messing on the train.
Shout at crane driver that time is up at 7.30, so he’s got 5 mins to take the tank or I’ll drop trailer there.
5 mins later, drop trailer there.
Get to gate, refused exit due to dropping trailer, told they’ve got 5 mins to open gate or truck stays there.
5 mins later, truck stays there, phone boss, quit job, walk back to car.
bring some memories back with me at next a pontefract, got band for trying to drag the lad in the office through the little letter box hole on the window, his tie has just hanging there when him mouthed off at me
Top man, sometimes things just work out that way.
God man.
It is liberating
I did it on the 3rd of July…Just wasn`t taking the crap anymore.
I took a couple of months off and now doing part time again for a smaller firm nearer to home and no egos` It is brilliant.
Well done that man! I used to that way but I admit age has mellowed me somewhat, which to be fair sticks in my gut
Is it wrong that I want to hear more stories of stuff like this?

No I dont think so,ask some of us old codgers who were in the game for 50years !!,loads of tales to tell.
A really old school haulage owner once told me,never give a driver a rollicking or worse still sack him over the phone.
Wait till he gets your wagon back to the yard, and if hes still gobbing off you can put him on his arse !!
I think the advice still holds good today,(except the bit about putting the driver on his arse)
Regards. John.
I got banned from McDonalds drive through…, well, what was left of it…
