A bit more from the model Transcon I’m building.
Neil.

Never drove a Transcon with more than 1 seat let alone 3  Steering wheels in an odd place too :open_mouth:

As stated previously , I have managed to get more info on the fleet of Transcontinentals operated by City of Glasgow District Council Dept of Clansing

There were 4 P registered units , of which I have no reg nos.

There were 11 others , registered between 1979 & 1983 as follows

All 11 units were 6 x 4 s .

Reg No Fleet No Year
LGB 1V 3606 1979
LGB2V 3607 1979
LGB 3V 3608 1979
LGB 4V 3609 1979
LGB 5V 3610 1979
LGB 6V 3611 1979
LGB 7V 3612 1979
LGB 8V 3613 1979
TGA 840W 3614 1981
CSU 688X 3615 1981
LGA 556Y 3616 1983

List of reg nos & fleet nos has entered all squashed up , if a mod could space them out a bit better I would be grateful

Thanks

A few Transcon shots of the 15 they had.

Had that picture for a good few years now and with you saying that it would be good to see a later picture of it?

Hi Neil,

She looks great well done.

I remember that UBM Ford/ Evans Halshaw at Avonmouth had a Transcontinental wrecker for a while. Not sure if it was lettered, but it did have the Ford Trucks red doors.

This was outlasted by their Ford D1000, which was in service until they closed in the early 90’s.

Happy New Year.

Ryan

After much searching i found it,summer 2001 lost its air dam but still has nasty roof fairing.

Nice find

According to the DVLA, CFC 2V was taxed until September 2001, so I would guess she is long gone.

after being parked up at the end of 2001, this year she was broken up for spares sad but true.
