vav hee ran transcon’s to middle east also uk couple of photos,Hi Bumper who drove those 2 beauties. was alan crowbar, joe Pepper or alan whalton there then
hi lads, thechink1968, big kris drove NFT 792 R Trevor turnbull drove KTN 350 P, this was the first trancon that van hee brought, but on that trip micky turnbull, no relation to trevor, was the driver, also it was the only transcon with a 9 speed gear box on the m/e for van hee rest had 13 speed boxes fitted, i drove pty 260 s engine gear box back axle you could not fault it, but the rest was a heep of rubbish, electrics was a nightmare its party trick when driving at night, you would put you indicator on to over take and all the light went out so it was into the first lay by strip the steering wheel off take the indicator and light box to bits clean the contacts to get them working again.it had 3 radiators on the first year 13 throttle cable i carried blank ends for brake diaphragms, so we could disconnect the pipe, blank it off wind the brakes back to get it home, bumper

hi ya thechink1968 here is a photo of a van hee transcon, this was the standard pose for it, joe pepper alan walton started has the transcon where been phased out, copyright of this photo belongs to gorden mitchell , the fitter is young bobbin’s, bumb er
my dad drove this transcon for mo baker,at the time it did not have any of the show garnish on it and was pretty standard except for some extra chrome and button draylon interior but was still very smart
Why did Ford insist on “having a go” at the heavy Premiun end of the market when they surely must have realised that they were wasting their time?I realise that the Transcon has now assumed “cult status” but in reality the Transcon was a joke amongst the heavy end of the 70s early 80s manufacturers. Bewick.

A lot of o/d’s had them on m/e because of their reliability.
I found mine to be no better or worse for reliability than any other marque.
