can you not read bud , this is the old timers forum for us "sad old gits " to indulge our memories . now why don,t you trot off back to the "professional thread " where you can indulge in all the name calling and willie waving you want . you will be welcome on this forum when you have grown up and learnt a few manners ,
Clearly you are the one who cant read it says foden thoughts so i gave mine but you sados dont like it when someone says they dont like them. Another deluded idiot that thinks everyone should like them.If you went on another make thread and said you dont like them i would say fair enough each to their own but you lot just go on pathetic. You need to realise not everyone likes the same thing.I dont need to drive one to not like them,i can see for myself how they look sound and go! The only two brand new trucks i have driven are the 580 fh manual and the m.a.n 44 auto the rest have all been between a year and 7 years old.So bma the premium 420 manual and the fm 420 manual were both getting on and had 700,000 kms on them after a hard life on bulk tipper work.A truck thats been on tipper work has had a harder life than something thats pulled roro trailers or fridges around all its life as a rule.Unless its a Scottish haulier!

I’ll try to get back to Fodens by saying I reckon a Foden Alpha, Cat engine and Daf auto 'box would be a seller in the tipper sector.
Hi Nathan, the Alpha cab & Cat I can understand, you know more about tippers than me so I stand to be corected, but I would have thought you would go for a manual box out of choice for site/quarry work etc?
Regards Chris
Bud143:
Oh and why wouldnt i work for you? You havent got a clue if i can do the job or not so dont talk [zb]
your are to young to hold the old girl,s run.have experiene of driver,s talking like you,AND YES I WAS ONE OF THEM 25YEARS AGO,SO I KNOW WHAT I TALKING ABOUT;could have be me talking then

Would have to agree, the DAF 4 over 4 would seem a good choice (What our 8 legger has).
Bud143:
You talk out of your arse bma you dont know the first thing about me or what i am capable of!
then show you are clever enought to stop arguing about fodens and everybody in the world already know your opinion, let others give them even if they like,s them.if you do this i,m beliving you can work for my

I’m an auto convert as of last Friday; I had a 4 over 4 on my old 4340 but like our manual CFs, it needs another gear above 50mph. My Alphas got the 12 spd rang/split and this is excellent all round.
C W Griffiths has run all sorts of tippers over the years including a lot of Fodens. The main of their fleet is now Volvo, but they still have one of the last Foden Alpha’s built.
Bud143:
Ok I admit it I never got to drive a Foden at all…I never experienced the puff of black smoke you get from a Cat engine wben pulling up a steep hill. My hatred stems from never having to switch a Gardner engine off (turbo or naturally aspirated) with a pull cable nor have the experience of the ■■■■■■■ Celect computer play silly beggars when on a busy weighbridge. Anyone know the phone number for the Samaritans?
No, but the chemist can prescribe something for your inferiority complex
Thats because your a sad ■■■■ who needs to get a life all because one person doesnt like what you like.God help your kid he will be made to like what you like
Come on lads if we just ignore a certain person on here we might get back to seeing the fodens that I was brought up with and LIKE keep em coming please, page after page of reading comments instead of lovely pics.
