I don’t think engine parts would be a problem, but for pre Daf cabbed ones, the fibreglass structure might be a problem for fixing accident damage.
My employer regularly uses a lady with a 20 year old Foden 3325 8w with Perkins engine. She keeps it going with scrapyard bits and the lorry is on it’s second tipping body. A very basic lorry compared to others around here but she gets the best payload of all, about 21tonnes.

Give the bloke a Twin Splitter or Fuller Roadranger to drive, no doubt there would be some revving, crunching and grinding going on!!

With the ■■■■■■■ Celect engine that has the security code you have to enter if the engine’s switched off for longer than 10 seconds
Not forgetting the engine stop cable that Dad had on an 1984 Gardner 270 Turbo…

Well FINALLY we agree on something Bud! I have exactly the same opinion of Volvo, DAF, MAN and Scania. Got to be the worlds worst trucks, total heaps of junk in my opinion that rot away after about fifteen years and though I have never even sat in any of them, let alone driven them, I can tell all that just by looking at photos of them in books and magazines.
Pete.

I can never tell Pete regarding Scanias; Spotlights and V8 badges blind me…
