There are still quite a few Foden’s on the road here. There would be a lot of guys that would still buy them if they could,ERF’s would still sell well too.

Here’s some from the last few weeks.

Smart old Beast from Down-under!

Good one mate, not seen that one before. That S29’s look good with the large radiator and four piece screen, might even have a double skin roof.
The Aussie loved them and had heaps of them,Foden’s were good sellers in Australia and NZ in the 50’s and 60’s.

Here’s some more.

And some others,Co-Ord Transport had heaps of Foden’s early on. They worked them hard too on Road Train work.

Check this out a sleeper cab S29,what a great looking truck.

They were good old trucks, read this.

Hi NZ Jamie,
I might hate what they do to us at cricket most of the time, but they certainly know how to make a wagon look smart while still being functional down there! As you say I seen so many pics of Aussie Fodens, they were obviously popular
Regards Chris

I think everyone loves to hate the Aussies when it comes to sport mate. It’s funny when Australia loose in sport they seem to forget to mention it on the telly, funny that!

Looking at the Co-Ord Foden’s again,I think they are S20’s not S29’s as they don’t have the bigger radiator.

Learnt to drive and passed my HGV1 on this one when 21yrs old in 1970. 150 Gardner 12 speed manual box, double reduction hubs, 22.5 ton empty would carry 45 tons

This was 122 EROs sister wagon. Beams for the M62

Been on butlers thread but needs to be on here also. You cant beat a bit of FODEN so why not a FEW.

Sort of getting the hang of this putting pictures on off my iPhone now I think.

Derbyshire Foden:

What a beast!!!

Anyone got any background info on this beauty?

Have you any longcliffes foden S36/39s please.

Wow, the late John Humphries (SPANNERMAN) would have been proud of that dumper! He loved his Foden’s when he was in charge of the workshop at Longcliffe.

Pete.

The 51 plate Alpha unit is the first one I’ve seen of that age. Smiths have 2 02 plate old style rigids plus Dads’ new style unit. I was told it was because the new cf cab came out for units first, and Dads was photographed quite a bit when new, allegedly being the first in Oxfordshire.

hot got any info on it, but i took these a while ago on the medway truck stop near whitchurch, i’d say it could have poss been on the way to longcliffe as its just plain white, or is there more of this type of machine flirtin about

when i first saw it i thought it was off to be a UN vehicle.

cheers
