I know there’s been countless threads on here about flashing in other wagons, but I was just wondering how many people bother to flash coaches?
I always used to, still often do just out of habit, but none times out of ten they just carry on down the middle lane instead of pulling in to the left lane, and on the rare occasion they do pull back in they never acknowledge your signal.
Do they just not see a need since they can go faster than us? Or are they all just ignorant pricks?
It’s an odd thing the human mind, spose it’s like passing a heavy hgv going up the m62 summit over the Pennines, if your pulling at 52 and tanker man is at 38 your passed him and left enough of a gap to fit two trailers in by the time he’s reached for his headlight.
Some of us in this instance still flash, i don’t think it’s to say yes, thanks mate you’ve left me an acceptable gap to pull in, it’s more to do with showing your not an ignorant so and so and a bit of respect for a fellow professional

+1.
I always flash em in, and if they don’t respond…don’t give a sh, at least I’m the most courteous driver out of the 2 of us.
I always flash another wagon or a coach in.
Not sure where the “They never acknowledge it” comments come from though as I find more often than not you get the hazard flash or the dancing indicators

British plate yes, foreign plate no.
The difference?
Big difference…On the whole, I’ve never had a European driver cut in on me yet while they’re overtaking (as far as I remember) as for Brit ‘‘drivers’’ doing it?..where do I start.
(I somehow don’t think that is what he meant though. )
Outcast1963:
I always flash folk in but I work for the most hated company on here so very rarely get a response and very rarely get flashed in myself.

I flash Stobrats in all the time and most do indeed acknowledge me usually, I wouldn’t say it any more or less than any other company. Some people can’t be arsed to flash others in or acknowledge being flashed in. Better not start on the nice people who try to clean your windscreen with thr back end of the truck otherwise Robroy will be on a rant lol.

One done it today, or was it yesterday. : …(I’m starting to keep a record. )
The latest offering was a Ralph Davies driver, a firm who once over only employed decent proper drivers in days of old.
Anyhow… it was pulling a Ralph Davies tanker ( didn’t know they ran tankers) so at least the type of trailer rhymed with what I shouted when he (almost) over took me.
Speaking as a driver of both in a truck I never flash coaches in because quite frankly they don’t need it. But if I’m driving a coach and a lorry flashes me in I’ll always do a thank you, but it’s really not needed the speed difference is that high.
this courtesy thing is a gamble,it really jars when theres no “thank you” same as if you hold a shop door open for someone and they walk in without even looking at you . I try to balance things out such as when i see a loudmouth complain that hes not being given preferential service have a word with someone higher up the chain[if you put your mind to it suprising who you know ] so he gets put on permanent nights or on short time for a year
