FEDEX

Talking to a few drivers this morning,it seems our trunk drivers do have a bad reputation…Some drivers do have a strange urge to be anywhere quicker than time, but there are a few professional drivers

you got one of the slow units then

Did those drivers specify why you’ve got a bad reputation, and what is FedEx doing about it?

Would that be when some if them are trunking on the M74 they move in to soon.Or they come in that close you have to break to avoid getting hit by the trailer just a guess happend to me the other night.

I have had to take avoiding action to facilitate one of their motors on the A17 early in the AM, head on with another lorry is not my idea of fun…Mind you I have had to do it for a Kimes lorry as well…Lorry drivers in general are becoming dangerous.

I like drivers who don’t hang about

I’m sure he drives that tractor as fast as you can pick em!

There goes the professionalism out the door… “Job & Knock” mentality.

It’s better to get 100 trunks there in one piece, no loads lost, no damaged goods, no failed deliveries…

Than rush about, don’t take unroadworthy tractors off the road 'cos you can’t be arsed, and end up being an obligatory prop in some pile up somewhere…

Then there’s this week…

A tumour in your humour?

It IS actually possible to crack on & get it all there in 1 piece you know…

Not if you’ve got a two-piece drawbar combination to start with though! :smiling_imp:

Aye, but the Axors on the Aberdeen run can shift a bit :grimacing: , but then it’s 4hrs 18mins (if it’s clear) to get from Gretna to Aberdeen and then you’ve got a c**t of a reverse to back into the yard while dodging commuters and vans abandoned all round the yard.

flippin’eck I agree with pimpdaddy :open_mouth: it is perfectly possible to drive safely and responsibly while ‘making progress’, plenty of clueless snails doddering about on the roads.

Feel like I’m going backwards when the Fedex mob come through the road works on the M6 flat out!!!

Must admit to sticking to (or under depending on circumstances) the limits in roadworks out of consideration for the poor sods doing the work, what ■■■■■■ me off is the jokers doing 10mph UNDER the limit when there’s no other ■■■■■■ around :unamused: Have been fortunate enough not to have been sent down to Parkhouse for a few months happy days

If I want the M1 I always go via the A50.

If it was one of the old 'decker units, they can’t half knock on.
I brought a solo unit back from Gretna a few months ago and had to throttle back a little as it was difficult to keep in a straight line when flat out.

It’s kind of instilled into you on there, foot to the floor and no stopping, some just take it to the extreme, like many overnight parcel trunks really.

The route sheets used to have ‘driver MUST NOT stop en route for any reason’ or words to that effect, but they soon deleted it when someone mentioned showing it to VOSA. :astonished:

It’s just under 4hr30m to get from Sittingbourne to Parkhouse (stoke) as well. They’ve even got “jump jockeys” that’ll come out the gate, and drive your combination in, when you run out of time on the service road going in - as I did Christmas 2014… I’ve been told that “having to take a 45 en-route” went against me when I put in for a job there a year back as well. :imp:

Gretna to Aberdeen 4hrs 18 mins ,not today Frb shut poor plonkers
