I have had to take avoiding action to facilitate one of their motors on the A17 early in the AM, head on with another lorry is not my idea of fun…Mind you I have had to do it for a Kimes lorry as well…Lorry drivers in general are becoming dangerous.

There have always been dangerous drivers. It just seems now there are more than ever.

I think they say except for legal breaks now, I did a few shifts for them last June. If you take your break, they moan that you’re late.

Yup parcels are a bit different from general, I blame the ‘order by 9pm and guaranteed next day delivery’ bollox which is fine if its town to town but just about ■■■■■■■ impossible if it’s from wildest Dartmoor to a shepherds croft in some god forsaken glen up the west coast of Scotland :unamused: . No stopping when loaded but ok when empty and the Aberdeen trailers get jumped to Johnstonebridge through the winter.

FRB only affect the Cowdenbeath run, usual problem is when some berk in a merc aquaplanes and parks their car on the central reservation at the foot of Beattock or along the A90, sometimes its a BMW for a bit of variation :unamused:

They must have altered runs at some point as 4.18 is out the window bridge closed using up drive time whatever route u take

Rentadent:
It’s kind of instilled into you on there, foot to the floor and no stopping, some just take it to the extreme, like many overnight parcel trunks really.

This. I don’t think there’s a single parcel network where most of their drivers aren’t sat as close to the limiter as they dare on the M1 roadworks 50MPH sections and if there is a truck 6ft from a car in L2 trying to shove it up the road its usually towing a double decker for one of the parcel or pallet networks.

Yeah this berk in a merc ■■■■■■ up my early Saturday finish a few weeks ago on the M8

Using the forth road bridge on a gretna to aberdeen run? You’d be adding 30 odd mile onto a round trip.

U are right m80 a9 berk in merk heading for Cowdenbeath when he mounted crash barrier on m8 2 was ago

That was the day of high winds and lots of surface water. I was on Aberdeen that day, North East was OK but started getting worse from Dunblane south.

It’s just under 4hr30m to get from Sittingbourne to Parkhouse (stoke) as well. They’ve even got “jump jockeys” that’ll come out the gate, and drive your combination in, when you run out of time on the service road going in - as I did Christmas 2014… I’ve been told that “having to take a 45 en-route” went against me when I put in for a job there a year back as well. :imp:

Zb me this sounds right up my street, I used to love a challenge (preferably not in an axor though)

Stick the cruise control on at 88km, radio on,sit comfortable and chill… 3 hr 50 to East London … I DON’T GET PAID ENOUGH TO STRESS!!

comfortable? in an axor?!? :open_mouth: ahahahahaha
