Thes two had 180 Gardners in from new, But my cousins who owned them fitted 290 RR, In them, Regards Larry.

Lovely motor that Meers Foden! Was it new to them?

yes mate my dad had it new in 1974 we sold about 1983,84 to mick whittle who ran it for a couple more years

Mick Whittle that’s a blast from the past, I looked at one of his wagons some years ago An 8 wheeler Foden Tipper that he had for sale, If I remember rightly his brother Geoff ran a Mickey Mouse 8 Wheeler subbing to Walkers who also ran a lot of Fodens on coke haulage in the 70s, Happy long gone days, Regards Larry.

He will have bought a well looked after motor then. Is Janet still around? I used to speak to her quite regularly when I worked in the traffic office at K&M circa 1992-1995

Talking of k&m what happend to Otis transport from Scunthorpe ? Didn’t they sub out similar work coal ect,they ran fodens. My dad did a fair bit for them around 95ish.

I think they packed in late 90s, Fergusons of Blyth bought some of their trailers at that time, Regards Larry.

mick whittle is still running a 4000 series 8 wheeler, I see him a lot around Northampton on m1,im sure there was something in truck and driver about him in the late 80,s

yes janet alive and well ha ha,its my mum,we did a lot for k&M back then,when I first passed my test I went on mooorgreen to ratcliffe for K&M that be about 1995,would you be in office then??

Anyone remember one of K&M s fitters a big bloke nick named wolf who was in to old motorbikes ?
