I watched a practically hysterical Irish MEP saying that Mrs May could ‘stick her hard border where the Sun doesn’t shine.’ I understand that this may have been some time ago, I only saw it this week. I thought it was the Irish Prime Minister insisting on a hard border?
Some time ago I watched an FB post where Jacob Rees Mogg among others questioned Guy Verhofstadh about the Irish border problems. Mr Rees Mogg asked him where the problem was, saying that if the uk and Northern Ireland didn’t impose a hard border, why should the EU? His reply was that ‘the rules are the rules,’ nothing they could do about it…
It would be interesting to know why the EU doesn’t impose ‘the rule’ about any illegal immigrants being processed in the country of arrival, instead of sweeping them further north?
So you wouldn’t want any sort of border between the NI and Eire? (Assuming a hard Brexit)

the problem is nobody wants a hard border neither EU or NI (dup, who i think want to brexit) or brit government , but how you square that circle, god knows , when you take freight out of the EU you need at the minimum to submit a customs STAMPED EX1 form, how you do that online is anybodies guess, despite what the ERG states about online/trust a trader schemes etc.

It’s clear that the established bilateral Anglo Irish arrangements trump any EU ones between the two countries. In which case there’s obviously a difference between goods originating in and moving between UK-Ireland.As opposed to EU goods.IE why do/should we even need/want to recognise the stinking EU for the purposes of Anglo Irish movements ?.While why would anyone want to import/export anything to/from the UK from/to anywhere in the world via Eire ?.While if the unrecognised invalid EU non state wishes to stamp its equally invalid in this case, authority over established bilateral Anglo Irish protocols, then any decent government would first take the matter to the international courts and the UN,on the basis that the EU has no right to unilaterally enforce its own border controls over UK-Irish bilateral arrangements without the consent of all parties, because the EU isn’t a de Facto internationally recognised country. Then if that fails it’s war starting with the tearing up of the CTA and the isolation of Eire and the expulsion of all Irish Nationals from UK.If that means I can no longer get Kerrygold butter in the shops tough look on the bright side there will be loads of the unwanted traveller fraternity queuing up at the ferry terminals with their caravans to go home.
So Corbyns called May a stupid cow well …
Then he denied it … who cares .He is getting to an age where he’s starting to forget things like being anti Jewish but there you go.
Two Tory MPs have different plans for Brexit if (when) Mays plan gets voted out with one not ruling out a second referendum if the MPs can’t agree .So the majority of Britain agree we need to get out but the clowns who run this country and make a fortune out of the EU want us to vote again because they can’t agree. The EU announce plans for a no deal Brexit including pilots being allowed to fly into the EU for up to 9 months but will then need to change their licences WHY■■? . Holidays wont be affected suprise suprise but you will need a visa for long term stays and lorry drivers will continue as usual on trips to EU countries for up to 9 months but will then need a permit. They end the statement by saying that these measures are for EU countries convenience not ours. Maybe we should set some new laws up here too

Not much point in Brexit without wanting to turn back the clock to 23.59 on 31/12/1972 regarding movement and licencing arrangements. So we need to go to the AA or post office for an IDP to drive there and pilot’s licences become the sole responsibility of the UK for issue and administration so what big deal. There’s probably not much in the EU’s demands that aren’t consistent with that.As you say it’s then up to us to reciprocate. However ‘if’ the EU are going to apply discriminatory sanctions against any state for daring to secede as part of that then that’s a different matter.
well you cant say the EU doesn’t have a workable plan, and why should they bother about us. we’re leaving them and sticking our fingers up at them . what plan do we have - naff all that’s any good , our people in parliament dont seem to have any grip on the realities of international freight , shipping , or bugger all apart from grabbing expenses and self preservation. mine actually claims for cups of coffee
rent some ships, and they’re going to load what from where and to drop it off where
several thousand troops on standby , what are they going to do , some are reservists , expect your ex forces drivers to disappear , like mine did to the gulf
send out vague advice on what to do after brexit
park several hundred vehicles on the m20 / m2 again
one minister moaned they had left it too late to book extra ferry space - which particular vehicles are they for then ,

Plus Spardo from previous conversations on different topics on Trucknet I presume you lived and worked in Nottingham and if so everyone in Nottingham knew it was a “well paid job “
I left a well paid job at Stirlands to have a even better well paid job at “Players “
I have never doubted that Players paid well, but that only reinforces my view that you are mistaken as to the reason for the Polish move. Lower wages there was probably a major cause, not EU meddling, as you like to call it. It would probably have happened even if the EU had never existed. But, as with so many leavers, you seize on any unconnected ill to justify the the leaver cause.
I disagree, that’s all.
You fail to mention that it wasn’t Imperial Tobaccos decision to stop manufacturing and selling 70% of its products which were made at Nottingham
It was a EU directive which was the major issue my point being EU meddling

If that’s true, then big deal, you want to ruin the country for 10 ■■■■? But, as I said, I don’t agree, if a company the size of Imperial can’t retool to make larger packets what hope is there? Especially as they must have made the transition in Poland ok.

I think its another ploy by the EU/May coalition to scare us into staying the EU are on their knees and know that when we go so does their gravy train. The EU will fall apart

It is true and it was a big deal to the hundreds of people made redundant and the suppliers and contractors who were put out of business
You miss the point again it’s nothing to do with larger packages it’s the EUs direct meddling in banning the sale and manufacturing of 70% of its Nottingham factories output
Production of packets of 10s Menthol cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco under 30g didn’t transfer to Poland it was BANNED by the EU
The remaining output of Nottingham’s production went to Poland
What part of that don’t you understand? also what has a packet of 10s got to do with ruining this country ?
My original post was how the EU has helped close a British factory with its meddling

Bang on Ramone no body realises how bad things are in other EU member states, the frogs are up in arms over all taxes and the standard of living and the green jacket brigade have by no means finished yet and that has spread to Belgium and wont be long getting to Holland as there taxes are about to double to cover the shortfall when we leave (read the caption I put on above) to see what is going on there, Spain, Portugal, Italy & Greece are all virtually bankrupt so it wont be any good Brussels asking them to up the input to the EU coffers, one more member state falls and the whole shooting match will collapse and it will for sure in the end, cant wait Buzzer.

Nothing discriminatory anywhere.
Just treating us the same as any other WTO country…
hmmmm… Who is the nearest country the EU doesn’t have a trade deal with?
Russia? Western Sahara? Libya?
We’ll be treated equally with them.

Fine then we’ll limit the value of German imports here to the same amount as that of Western Sahara and replace the shortfall with domestic industry and US manufacturing imports.Thereby providing the win win of decimating our EU trade deficit and replacing it with UK based industry while increasing our far more beneficial trade with the US.Oh wait the US obviously won’t want to do anything to upset its European Federalist mates or be seen to support the contradiction of secession.Which explains why Trump hasn’t put his words into action by unilaterally de recognising UK as an EU member state with an over night change in the trade regime between us to match.
While the fact that the EU imposes a policy of no trade without sovereignty and contributions for some but not others obviously fits the description of ‘discriminatory’.Remind us which EU rules, like ECJ juristiction, access to American fishing grounds and free movement of people and EU vehicle type approval and global warmist policies, apply in the USA and Canada and how much they pay into the EU budget as a condition for trade.
Hopefully once we are out for good we can start smoking again as much as we want and to zb with all that cr*p about climate change, w**kers rights & all that lefty liberal stuff.
And don’t get me started on about the Nazis, who despite the lies that the allied nations defeated them in 1945 have ruled Europe ever since - Eton college being one of their prime recruiting grounds.
We were brainwashed from an early age to accept it all, not least from the songs we were forcibly made to learn in primary school:
Alouette, gentille alouette, Alouette, je te plumerai. Je te plumerai la tête. Je te plumerai la tête. Et la tête ! Et la tête ! Alouette, Alouette ! Je te plumerai le bec. Je te plumerai le bec. So Denmark have decided to shake it up a bit with a simple law which insists that anyone who wants to become a Danish national must be prepared to shake hands with authority . Nothing in that it seems but no , the press have got a hold of it and it now appears to be aimed at Muslims. Well why would this be a problem ? The problem is that Muslims dont like to make physical contact with non Muslims (try telling that to the people of Rotherham and Huddersfield) but the Danes have said a simple handshake the friendly Danish way is a must. What has this got to do with the EU you remainers might ask ….. well its the EU who have insisted on Denmark taking in migrants from Asia . When will people learn that mass immigration from cultures that don’t want to embrace the laws and customs of their new homes will never work (I can see the keyboard warriors typing RACIST already ).
I would like to know the result of a referendum of the whole of Europe to see who would remain and who would leave. I would guess Germany France Belguim Sweden and Holland would be out like a flash , and quite a few more too .But that will never happen ,then again if we get out it wont need to

For crying out loud it was you who brought the banned packets into the discussion, not me, so to answer your last question, nothing. Nothing to do with 10s, tobacco or menthol ■■■■. Whatever Imperial’s reasons were it was to do with economics, not EU regulations.
If they can live with EU regs in Poland, they could have lived with EU regs in Nottingham.

You are blaming the wrong cause and effect.
Cheap labour will be the main reason just like BMW did with EU incentives no doubt
