Carna:
I Worked for A E Evans when they was at Barking and Richard was running it all then but he was more interested in REVANS than the other work
Any idea when A.E.Evans packed in Carna and why?
cogob:
DRJ - David Jones sold it all out to EGL at Shoebury and out went the old A and B reg Volvo’s which EGL have now replaced with a newer fleet.
Those old Volvo’s never had limiters fitted, I was in one of the later rigids and left services on the M40 the same time as one of the old Volvo’s, I think the driver was at home in bed by the time I got back to the yard…
aha, I am happy to be proved wrong! I assumed that as some of Daves old trailers were still in use that he had simply updated his fleet and was running for EGL now, thanks for update. I will always regret not taking a picture of his F88 shunter that was in there for ever.
I left A E Evans in 1986 he was still going them but the Revans side was loosing money and he kept taking monies from A E Evans and putting into Revans thats all i no

Wasn’t Crossways Transport based at the Crossways Cafe at Frating crossroads. It seems to ring a bell.
Just seen the pic of an old Harwich Express Ford. Where on earth did you find that ?. Sadly Harwich Express ceased trading last September thanks to a wannabe millionaire from Ipswich who ran it into the ground in order to fund his many other failed ventures !. I left them in August last year ( just in time to get paid ) to start working for Post Kogeko B.V ( made a quick buck and then left) . Unfortunately the other 29 drivers weren’t so fortunate.
i found the Trans Con photo in my collectoin i have a photo a Harwich Haulage from Wivenhoe is that the same co
As far as I know they were always known as Harwich Express Freight Services Ltd and always based in Harwich. Not heard of Harwich Haulage although there use to be Harwich Transport Ltd ( Trucks written as HTL ) who I believe were bought out by DFDS or DSV as they are now known. But don’t quote me on that, I’m only 28 and it was a bit before my time !!!
There was a Harwich Haulage, my Dad used to drive for them out of their depot at Barking Creek.
I can’t remember what vehicles or what colour they were, he wasn’t there long and I certainly can’t remember much.
Just remember the name.
Harwich Haulage ran Scania’s,dark blue.
I ran with one of their driver’s,Eric Gould who later went on to drive for Visbeen, sometime in the early 80’s down to Switzerland.
There were at least three companies with the Harwich name:
Harwich Haulage,Harwich Express & Harwich Transport.
as far as i know Harwich Express were bought by Neil Bomford last year?
Neil Bomford bought Harwich Express in the summer of 2003 just before I started to work for them. Part of the sale was that the original MD Jim Woolton stayed for 3 yrs to oversee the running of the business. When Jim Woolton’s 3 yrs were up Bomford put it on the market and Synergie Worldwide Logistics of Martlesham bought it, it was that point when everything went wrong !
ah, all clear now!!
is this the same Harwich Haulage
does anyone remember eurospan at barking■■?
