I saw your Mack’s from TA over here, again strong appearing/appealing trucks!
What about Fabulous FTF? They were Mack-importers from Hilversum, first customers were Haukes,
also known for many 8-wheel Foden’s and Stoof in Breda, later to be absorbed into the Mammoet-
Van Seumeren (who lifted the Koersk) before Mack decided to hand over the stick to Zwaans-group
in Alphen a/d Rijn as FTF (originally as FLOOR a trailer-manufacturer but then FloorTruck Fabriek)
started to build own chassis and were regarded competition.
beraring in mind this forum is a leisure pursuit
It was that indeed , but these threads are turning into a sideshow , some interesting points and content is contained within them from all who contribute , but now seem to be more petty bickering like school kids , he said , she said etc .
The manner of some of the content in this & other related posts is disheartening to say the least , it has got now to the stage of personal attacks , and casting up in this post what was said in a different thread.
All contributions are useful , without the need for point scoring , or picking up on every single word , mulling over it and replying with unnecessary input .
It would be good if Normal service could be resumed here , but I would certainly not place my house on such an outcome .

I agree totally ,this and the other erf thread on here are beyond me now,
To avoid somebody will risk his home and sleeps in a carton-box…only to put this thread on page 1 where it belongs since long.
ERF was not emotional on doing business and for same reasons not capable to deal with Europeans, R.I.P. M.Thatcher though
Quite extraodinary! Now then, back to business. I notice that there are surprisingly few pics of NGCs pulling fridge trailers about: only Richard Read and Trans Arabia spring to mind. Here’s one taken I think in Jeddah. Robert
ERF-Continental:
@Robert: the next time I (or my entourage) notice any offence, I’ll input ALL of your remarks
to the new publishers and then I really doubt if they will publish your Cookies and Wobbies!
Oh please grow up ffs.
You and your soppy mate are turning otherwise interesting threads into a bipolar cluster[zb]
If you haven’t got anything of any relevance to post, go on Facebook and play your silly games there.
As I understand it, the 'fridge trailers arrived in Jeddah by sea and were tipped by Trans Arabia units at various destinations on the Arabian Peninula. Robert
Unispeed was part of Birds Eye Foods and, according to Commercial Motor 12/07/74, they were running 170 vehicles at that time. Most of their trailers were in Birds Eye livery, I believe. They were taken over by Trans Ocean Distribution in 1988. It occurs to me that CAMEL, who also ran ERF NGCs out of Jeddah, did quite a lot of unaccompanied 'fridge traction and I wonder if they were Unispeed trailers too… Robert
Vermeulen, Holland. Pics by Leo Mes. Robert
FLOURPOWER:
ERF AD
Thanks for this Flourpower; we have had it early in the thread but it wouldn’t it be nice to be able to send off for info by filling in the coupon suggested in the advert! I also notice that you popped that nice pic of the ERF ‘European’ 5MW on the Harold Wood thread, which I have conveniently reposted below! Cheers mate. Robert
More Vermeulen, I think. Robert
@Robert Hackford: noble intention…be convinced there were strong and good reasons
(as you yourself initiated later) to have some diversity on threads, European or not and
regardless of the marketing-definition.
Attached a picture of 1974 Earls Court, scanned out of Peter Davies’ tremendous’ book on
the 60 years-milestone, not to be mixed up with the other “60 years on” publication.
To be fair and honest…proceeding on earlier input…it’s worth while to continue with
selecting/narrowing vehicles by details as (quote A-J: J-, ]- and }-form) mirror-brackets
to in- and/or exclude certain vehicles in our assumption on origin/destination. Even with
indicators, mind the bubbly Lucas placed higher than the “square” other type.
Perhaps I overread earlier threads, but where ‘ended’ this demo? Eric Vick? Beresford?
Alexander
By the way, cheers with your Sheppard’s Neame or even Bollinger

I cannot answer this question with full knowledge. We know that NGCs were not available in the UK until two years after they entered production, so all UK vehicles would have been in ‘fully-developed’ form. As for demonstrators, I imagine that these would have been around throughout the production period. For example, we know that Berend Sjouw, a Dutch owner-driver, bought a NGC 420 from the ERF importer, Best Trucks in 1976. It was their demonstrator and it had been exhibited in the ’76 Amsterdam Commercial Vehicle Show. It was powered by a ■■■■■■■ NTC 335 and used mainly to haul tilts for Van Uden Transport in Rotterdam. He traded it in for a B-series after only one year because it was too thirsty! Robert
Sorry, due to age , incompetence, and sheer tiredness, please try t get my drift…silly old sod that I am!!!
also known as ffs , fat finger syndrome , not what the vulgar minded would interpret it as . dave

I get your (spliced in) drift, Saviem. And thank you! Robert
Saviem:
Unispeed…owned by Unilever…actually the people who purchased Clive Smith`s Comart Europa…(they never could outwit Clive…Morlock…and all the work was the result)!!!
Close ties with Camel, and some of the Fridges used were ex Stoke on Trent Comart ones!!!
Mmm. An interesting web of connections. Both Comart and CAMEL ran ERF NGCs. Robert
