The first picture is a new one, shame the left hand side was cut off. Must have been taken the same time as the
pic on page 7. The other one i think have been on here before but these may be clearer.
Clearer pics of both these appear in Book 2. The first is taken from a slightly different angle without the edge clipped off - I imagine these were promo pics as the drivers are posing too! The second pic was taken by Niels Jansen, a photojournalist and major contributor to Truckstar magazine in Holland. Robert
…and ^^^^rather him than me! That looks like one of those ‘ten-foot’ loads that were over-width but not escortable - correct me if I’m wrong. I never liked those, though I did a few. I remember doing flat over-width steel plate imported from Belgium which I had to carry on a flatbed trailer to Wales - I did two or three trips with an F90 MAN. I had to go really early to avoid the rush hour traffic on the M25 but once over the Severn Bridge, the Welsh rules dictated that I had to proceed under police ■■■■■■. What a relief! It was so much easier with the old bill clearing the way. Robert
Exquisite! Yes, a new picture indeed and a very fine one at that. This one of those pictures that make me want to get into the cab and drive it! Of course, the unit is familiar and we have other pictures of it, but this is a lovely photo of 34-UB-99. Thank you Dean for posting this. . This was the unit supplied to Vermeulen on the pre-registration plate N-03-66, then registered 34-UB-99 but re-registered in 1980 as 91-99-HB. Robert
Here’s a picture I wouldn’t have minded putting aside for Book 4 (only joking)! But with Book 3 not yet definite, I’d rather share it, especially as it is already in the ‘public arena’! Thanks to the person who found it for me. Robert
