Just bumping this thread back up in response to a recent request for info about the E16 on another thread. Robert
Think Hankins have still got that 14. Just down the road from me and keep meaning to try and get a few pics.
Here’s a pic of an antipodean E-series ERF. I know that in UK they had Twin-splitters as standard equipment and Fuller Road-Rangers as an option, but can anyone tell us what standard gearbox they used in New Zealand and Australia? Robert
Here’s an ERF E-series E14:400 with a 13-speed Fuller in it. Anyone know when ERF started offering this 'box in the E14:400 E-series, or was it from the start? Robert

I know this vehicle very well it was supplied by S Jones garages to an owner driver and the reason it had a 13 speed was that at that time 1987 88 the twin splitter did not have a high enough torque rating to be matched up to the 14 ltr 400 but i think that you could always spec a 13 speed if you wanted one
Great replies! Cheers Dan and Jerry! Robert
Nice piece of evidence! Robert
There’s about 30 minutes of film altogether ,Steve will eventually put most of it on .

I’m looking forward to the rest of it. One of my favourite trucks - used to do European work with an E14:320 (with Twin-splitter). Robert
Steves other videos on youtube are definatly worth viewing .
Hi
The picture of the E" series converted to a tipper with crane, regno. F312 UDG brought back memories for me.
When I started with W J Oldacres I got an “E” series reg no. F315 UDG new. It was fitted with the L10 325 and twin splitter box . The same depot also got F316 UDG fitted to the same spec.
We also had a D reg “E” series with a L10 290 and a 13 speed Fuller. It had a high ratio diff and once wound up would pass pidgeons, but it didn’t like hills.
The"E" series was a great drivers truck in its time, comfortable ,warm, good driveline. Wouldn’t be too upset if I had to take one out again tomorrow.
Bassman
Bassman ,it’s still in daily use, Kent ,sussex and Surrey are regular runs .
Robert mate,I’m pretty sure E Series here had either nine speed or 15 speed Fuller’s.
There are still a few still working. For some great kiwi ERFs check out this page.
