ERF A, B & C series

After being out of the country for few years, I’ve been tuning into ‘Dave TV’ to catch up on the last eight or so years of Top Gear programmes. And very entertaining they are too! Why can’t we have a nice hilly circuit somewhere where we can all put some of these glorious old ERFs through their paces (and any other marque for that matter)? We could call it ‘Bottom Gear’, or ‘Crawler’! Robert

Here are some B-series and C-series units I snapped today at the Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza. Robert

I think I have a photo of that D420SMB when it was red at the start of the Cheshire road run.

A rather elegant-looking C-series… Robert

Hi Flourpower, would I be right in thinking that in the picture of A34LDF coming over the bridge out of Healings was driven by Chris Solarno. I worked with Chris many years ago as I did with many of Healings drivers don’t if you were there at the same time as them - Roger Taylor,Brian Priddy,Mick Booth,Trevor Danter,Tony Greening,■■■■ Short,Pete Camden do any of these names ring a bell. Best regards

Hi Keith, my name is Noel Minchew and I worked with most of those guys at Oldacres in the early70s the others I know from various places,I left Oldacres in 1972 and became an O/D and used to go into Healings to load wheatfeed. I’ve known Roger Taylor since he worked for Dennis Perry at Church Farm, Bushley. My late Dad got Mick Booth his first driving job on Ashchurch Camp.Regards
