What can you expect?..A complete cluster ■■■■ of new rules.
The old system worked great, you weighed in and you were told which shed to tip and/or load, and you were in and out within 1 to 2 hours depending on if you were reloading or not.
But then some ■■■■ mastermind in authority decided that was not good enough.
Tbf I ain’t been in lately but a mate who is in there regularly, told me you have to jump through hoops now…, scan this/scan that, and you could queue for ■■■■ ages, maybe twice if reloading, weigh a couple of times, and there’s a new one way system afaik …and oh yeh the piece de resistance Rodney, you need to put a minimum of 20 straps on now, (although all the time that 10 to 12 were sufficient with no dramas, they just thought they would change it, to cater for those who can not drive a truck properly around roundabouts and corners.)
Good luck, take plenty coffee.

Sweet. I’ve git 15 straps. And no corner boards

15 straps on a load of board? :open_mouth:
Nah, totally unsafe.

Don’t bring sensible questions into it :unamused:
Sometimes I’ve loaded full width stacks of 3 right down the trailer, so I can’t wait for their answer and reason when I ask them which stack I only put 6 straps on and why.

I used two per stack when I loaded from there…

Well.so far so farce.

Been and sat my induction :unamused: still no clearer as to what I need to do or where I need to go or indeed how they want it strapped. I did call into another Kinaxia depot to stick up on straps and corner boards though

Gimme reefers…

Anyday.

Two loadlocks, close doors, flick noisy switch to on position, drive and forget about cargo.

Tbf chipliners/walking floor jobbies seem to be a fairly quick in and out. Waiting for finished product seems to need a bit of work though…

Howdens still only have to use 12 straps/15 straps - 4 per stack on a 2 pack stack, 5 per stack on a 3 pack stack - but then again we’re not turning it into sawdust by the time it gets to the other end unlike the likes of Ramage, Keedwells etc.

I remember following 2 of Howdens coming off the M6 heading into Penrith (5 or 6 yrs ago?)
The lights coming up the slip were on green the second truck took the corner too fast and ended up on it’s side …there was deffo a bit of sawdust on the road that night and a lot of board.

More sawdust on another occasion/location here also by the looks of it.

Was probably a agency driver

Well 4.5hrs later i pulled out… with no load. Absolute joke of a place. Worse thing is you can’t explain that you’re running out of hours to the computer system that runs it all :unamused:

Like I said it’s gone from a reasonably quick turnaround place, ok not every time, but more often than not, to a complete and utter ■■■■ up of a system that is supposed to be an improvement. :unamused: …why mend something that ain’t broke.
I’d love to see a lot of hauliers just pulling out, then these knobs who caused all this would be sent a firm message.

So what’s the score…you have to go back in to load in morning??

Don’t single out Egger. Could apply to so many sites. Dream on.

Problem is they’ve got a lot of hauliers fully invested. I seen multiples of the same local firms in there. Its alright for me as a one-off to just bin it off after so much time, but some firms rely on it so have no choice other than to put up with it or cut their nose off to spite their face.

Given we’re pulling 20,30,40 loads a day out of Egger you’re going to eventually get a plum who ■■■■■ it up - they don’t get a second opportunity. Trouble is that the likes of Keedwells etc are turning up to their customers with damaged packs etc on a daily basis but can’t afford to bin a driver who does because they struggle like hell to recruit staff.

Wow that’s old, Howdens have not had those units for about 7 years now. Also it’s not a load from Egger. In fact I don’t even know what that was it was carrying. Given it’s at Avonmouth and 2014 it could’ve been a subcontractor which was DHL back then, as Howdens supplies units to their main subby, possibly doing a backhaul load.

Kind of proves what I said when the only examples you can come up with and anecdotal evidence you have involve incidents over half a decade old and one of them probably not even a Howdens driver/agency and not even an Egger load.
