Eddie Stobart jobs advertised in job centre

Firstly, yes, you should twist the coupling after you have connected it, but secondly this is not a cast-iron guarantee that they won’t detach on their own, I have had it happen twice, once with a red airline and once with a yellow airline and both times the coupling was still rotated by 180 degrees after it had come off.

Brilliant, now this is what Forums are for   a good bit of light hearted banter between two grown men. Now lets see if “the word is mightier than the sword” Anyhow i would prefer not to watch two midgets fighting if you don`t mind…
Mods! can you let this carry on please  Fat,ugly, and hairy was a classic put down BRAVO

I don’t know wether to scratch my head or my arse reading it all. But if i was Blunderman i’d of probably just said…“yeah, you’re probably right. Its better to give it a twist to make sure”
But thats far to easy here where every one is either ex SAS or an ex mechanic or some sort of expert!!
I applied to work for them about five or so years ago, bearing in mind i’d previously done long stints with them on agency at several depots across the country. I just got a thanks but no thanks letter, i never even got to put a suzie on in an assesment , never mind twist it !!!

Don’t give a toss about stobarts either way they are just another firm.

Perharps i should re-read the forum rules, i hadn’t realise they’d been changed.

Blunderman,we were also told you also went through roadworks at 40mph when the limit was 30mph, and asked if it was loaded half way through the assessment  :

Blunder Man:
I will take a the word of a man with over 30 years experience as a fitter over yours if you forgive me, I know things can go wrong that’s sod’s law I specifically state that it CANNOT uncouple itself, if you can demonstrate one doing so, and I will come anywhere in the country to see it I will give £500 to a charity of your choice. I will couple the unit and trailer up like I did for ES, and you are to make it undo without touching it.

Does that offer stand for anyone?

I’ve been out to a unit where exactly this had happened. Red airline flew off the trailer, half a mile from the drivers yard. He put it down to him not coupling up properly, though he was sure he had.

Half an hour later it flew off again, this time he was sure he had coupled up correctly.
I went out in the service van, and fitted a new C coupling to both suzie and trailer.
On inspection of the old female C coupling, there was a ball-bearing missing from the lock. This, coupled with a worn male C coupling meant the coupling did engage, but was not sufficiently engaged to stay, errr… engaged.

You will note I said in GOOD CONDITION not a faulty one, but nice try.

No you didn’t, you said:

So when you coming with your £500? I’ve still got the couplings here, I’ll put them back onto one of my units and trailers for you to couple up.

Blunder Man:
I don’t know, nor did I ever say I did, but why do men wear hard hats looking down a hole? why do you need a hard hat to put a container on the back? if it falls on your head the container wont bounce off, Why does bread always land buttered side down?, If moths have balls that big how do they take of without landing strips? I would suspect it’s so knobheads like you LOCATE it properly, I stand by what I have said, it cannot, if it is in correct working order and been attached properly, come off by itself, I have it from far far more experienced men than a newbie like you, my £500 bet stands.

And this is definitely the last comment I promise, I will not respond to any further posts on this

Blunder Man:
Because it was defective is the best explanation, and I assume as a professional driver you had turned the collar, which is the whole bloody point, IF YOU TURN THE COLLAR THE RED AIRLINE WONT FLY OFF , if the whole thing is defective of course it will!!! but if your Suzy is in good order, even if you don’t turn the collar it CANT, I have tried every which Way hitting with a stick kicking one etc they cannot accidentally undo.

My Bet Stands.

I am now bored with this, and will make no further comment.

That wasn’t your bet though, was it? Your challenge was:

So shall I make you an appointment? Bring your £500.

I really am tired of this, it has gone on too long and is getting idiotic, some duck egg now wants to refit a FAULTY suzy coupling to win £500 and playing semantics to do it, the whole point was, that it was a rather silly thing to fail someone on when he could just have mentioned it, I have been driving over 30 years I NEVER lost a trailer, I never had a road accident, I never hurt anybody, I have a clean licence, I think a little leeway would not have been out of order, if I have done something as trivial as this on other assessment the assessor has mentioned it at the end, and unlike certain people who post on here I do not pretend to be infallible, the boorish conor for instance who never has anything productive to say just abuse and how good he is, if you want to keep posting please yourself, I maintain what I said, and bear in mind that this an ES depot where they virtually down to dragging passers by in of the street if they have an HGV, I am now retired thank God and no longer have to sit in RDC’s listening to the shaven headed, rigger booted connor’s of the driving world spout ■■■■■■■■, and stand sneering as they watch some poor sod make a bit of a mistake reversing on a bay, I am done with this thread.

Blunder Man:
