It’s only 5 shifts or else you can’t count.
No problem, just curious as I thought you could only do 5 shifts one week then 6 the next

Sunday to Friday is 6 days so im asking the poster how he works it, is his first or last day a short one ie early finish Friday or late start Sunday
Sun to fri is 5 24 hr periods sun-mon is 1 mon-tue is 2 tue-wed is 3 wed-thurs is 4 thurs-fri is 5. All legal and above board.
Yes 5 24 hour periods takes him to Friday morning but that doesn’t include time worked on friday which takes him into his 6th 24 hour period, what I’m curious about is what time will he be likely to finish Friday and wat time he would start sunday, and I don’t give a toss if its legal or not tachos don’t rule my life although where I work don’t run bent

I wouldn’t think twice on dumping the truck or driving it back without stopping
Think you might struggle to get a decent future Euro job if you did that. If you had a family emergency then a decent boss would always TRY and get you back. To just dump the truck at the nearest airport would be plain irresponsible.
As for driving non stop back home…where from? Malaga? Naples? What if you are in Greece or up in Scandinavia? One hits used to be fairly common but now-a-days you take a massive and very expensive gamble if you do it.
Euro plod wouldn’t give a monkeys about your family emergency, they would fine both you AND quite possibly your boss some serious money, maybe impound his truck and trailer etc and leave you at the side of the road…or banged up in the local nick! Then what are you going to do?
Family emergencies do happen but it is how you deal with them that counts. Anyone concerned about things like shouldn’t really be looking for a job that takes them away for weeks at a time. Have some family back up and support at home in place, at least that way it would give you peace of mind until you manage to get back.
Wtf would you do if you had a call to say your missus and or children was in intensive care for whatever reason, would you make sure you got your drop of first
Il post better later but I finish just after lunch on fri and start at lunch sun. 45 off every week.

Of course!!
There was a thread on hear regarding “Med-Trans” the insurance people. They manage to get people back from Euroland a soon as possible, and a ■■■■ site quicker than driving all the way back yourself. Long distance / Euro work has its downside as well and that sadly is one of them…hopefully such a terrible situation at stated by yourself wont happen to anyone.

I generally finish about 1400 on a friday then 45 off gives me a 11am start sunday.
Ive done before for example …
Sun 11am till 22.30. + 9 off
Mon 7.30 till 19.30 12 off
Tues 7.30 till 19.30 12 off
Wed 7.30 till 19.30 12 off
Thur 7.30 till 19.30. 12 off
Fri 7.30 till 19.30. + 9 off
Therefore sat 4.30 till 10.59 then 24 off and start again.
I think im right with this.

I read that as 7 shifts a week is that ok asking aslong you have 24/45 off
It is 7 shifts in a week but every night ive had the required rest and got a 24 in, and going out again on sunday means 13 shifts on the trot and seems legal.
I always thought you could only do 6 shifts a week, if you can do 7 the way you do it that could be very helpful for me £â‚¬Â¥Â¢$

The 6 shifts finished in 2007. You can do 144 hrs start to finish if that’s over 7 days it’s legal. As long as you don’t exceed 56 hrs driving in a single fixed week ( or 90 in two ) it’s fine.
if you can show me a link to where im going wrong il stand corrected but I read the rules and it never mention how many shifts, just daily and weekly rests.

It’s six 24 hr periods jd. That’s 144 hrs. You can work 20 shifts if you can squeeze them in.
If you start work at say 5pm Sunday then you must be finished by 5pm the following Saturday. 7 days no problem.
^^^^^ Correct.
You have to start a weekly rest period no later than six consecutive 24-hour periods after finishing the last one, If I start at 1300 on a Sunday and end the week running in on Saturday morning then that’s seven “cards” but it’s legal.
Thank you gentlemen I stand corrected.
