Eddie stobart international

I have a interview next week for stobart international.

I was wondering how long they stay away for and what type of pay you get.
I don’t want to be away for to long as have new born baby

Any info would be great guys.

Don’t feed the trolls!

What do you mean buy that?

I’d ask those questions at the interview if I was you. Perhaps this might help…viewtopic.php?f=2&t=96666

Dont know how long you would be away, but as said ask at interviue stage. I know some on here slate stobarts but if you have comitments at home maybe euro is not for you ?
Dont mean to offend in anyway but if it was me id go for it if i wanted it.we all know what
euro work entails being away maybe 2/3 weeks at a time is i think the norm.
If you could put up with that then go for it. Good luck anyway keep us posted.

A mate of mine was on for them doing euro work about 5 years ago. He was away 3 weeks at a time on the NAAFI contract. He was happy enough with it all. As I said this was about 5 years ago, maybe someone else on here could give you a more up to date view on things.
Stobarts get a lot of stick on here, but it wouldn’t stop me working for them. Being away from my newborn baby would though. But thats a personal choice

Thanks for all the advice guys. I will go to interview but I don’t think I am prepared to spend 2 weeks away from home.

I will let you know how it goes anyway

Didn’t know they were setting on, on international.
Where are you having the interview.
Normally now they want you to sign up to 3 weeks away when the work requires it but to be honest it will be few and far between.

You should not apply if being away for weeks on end and you say you have a baby, that will not be popular with your wife or girl friend when you are tramping around Europe, let a single driver take the job, trust me , you will not like being weekended in a service area on your 24/45 off surrounded by Eastern Euro drivers revving their engines all day and night to charge up their batteries from watching their Dvd`s and lap tops all night.
Unless you take a bike to cycle all day like i did.

Toby has a point there. Not sure why your going for the job if you don’t want to be away.

Thanks Turnip.

If you want to do Euro, you have to be prepared for a couple of weeks away at a time. It’s perfectly feasible for it to take 3, 4 or 5 days driving just to get to your drop.

What he is going to do when the baby is taken ill, you can not just dump the truck and fly home, any problems at home affect how you drive over there, you need little on your mind to concentrate on the job and do it properly, at critical times it has been proven that you are more prone to tacho offences.

They want you signing a contract for a minimum of three weeks away. To be fair it don’t happen very often (I did three weeks away three or four times in 8 years). A week away isn’t practical on European work. What happens when you get held up somewhere and the collection is shut until Monday?
I’m not saying you won’t be back most weekends, but they can’t guarantee EVERY one home.

And allow for breakdowns and industrial action.

I have always found that the International lot on Stobarts aint so much up em selfs like some on domestic duties , seem a decent bunch to be honest and happy with their lot . HTH.

You dont have to be weekended on european work at all, I go out on a sun and im back friday every week and in nearly a year ive been weekended once.

For a while now ive been on the paris run but before that I was on swiss every week… same again out sun back friday.

I wouldn’t think twice on dumping the truck or driving it back without stopping
