Franglais:
Oh, sorry I missed this out earlier:
In the year ending March 2022, there were 824 returns of people who had previously claimed asylum in the UK (see section 3.2 below for the definition of an asylum-related return). This was 75% fewer than in 2019 (3,332). This continued a downward trend since 2010, when there were 10,663 asylum-related returns. This sharp fall over the decade differed from non-asylum related returns. gov.uk/government/statistic … june-2022/
By definition if they are risking their lives to cross the channel it’s not asylum from France. It’s because we are giving them more economically, including free health care, than France is giving them.
Another link for Franglais to check the authenticity of, and decide if he’s going to rubbish and discredit it…
So let’s hope it’s ‘‘Real World’’ stuff this time eh?
Seriously though, if it is true and accurate, it’s a downright ■■■■ disgrace.

How accurate is it? Dunno, so I`ll take it at face value.
So, you think its a disgrace that those Ukranian refugees fleeing from Putin didnt sell their own houses off first, before the Wagner Group tanks rolled over them. They should have brought their own money over to buy Engerlish houses?
And the same with the Afghans coming here. Serving as translators and aiding the UK forces should be its own reward. Now weve got those stray dogs airlifted out of Kabul, what more are we expected to do?

You ain’t following me as avidly as you used to now are you?
Try and keep up man.
If you read back,.I personally have no problem with what I see as genuine REFUGEES, especially from Ukraine, and the ones out of Afghan who worked for/with the Allied forces out there, the same…but they can’t all have been auxiliaries and interpreters can they?
And in the true realm of things it does not matter a ■■■■ who I approve or disapprove of,.I’m merely drawing attention to the situation.
It’s the freeloaders I have a problem with,.as I clearly stated…(or evidently not so clearly stated )

No, Youre not "merely drawing attention to the situation", youre calling it “a downright ? disgrace”!

You know what Frangers if you were not well known on here for just being an argument for arguments sake type of guy,.I would have had you down as being a bit dim…so I’ll resist the temptation of saying
‘‘Franglais,.tell you what mate,.■■■■ off, just ■■■■ off’’ .
…because that would not be in the spirit of a forum discussion.
(You ain’t supposed to discuss pms so I’ll just say somebody just texted me saying exactly the same…so not just me then apparentlly.)
Right then…I fully realise the first part was referring to Ukranians and Afghans but how many Ukranians come over on a ■■■■ dinghy?
How many Ukranians are over here purely for the fruits of the UK,.with no real need to leave their homeland?
Like I said how many Afghans off said dinghys,.were attatched to the British forces?..as far as I know most were evacuated out by plane when the Taliban took over…but you will no doubt know the exact number to a man with your over analysis of everything.
I await the results of your next picking holes set.

So…
You post a video about housing for Afghan and Ukranian refugees.
To make a point about? People arriving on dinghies?
So…
You invite me to comment on the video…about Afghans and Ukranians…and get your knickers in a twist because I cant see inside your mind* where its all about something else? That isn`t in the video?
Well, I commented on the video. You dont like what I said. Someone else has told you via PM they concur. I expect others dont like what I said.
Tell you what: I couldnt care less. I say what I think. I dont do so to win popularity contests.
The government are going about this the wrong way.
They don’t need “New Legislation” all the time, just rigid enforcement of the legislation and electoral pledges they’ve already made. That means locking up Lefty Lawyers for “Obstructing the course of Justice” every time they routinely put in a “Legal Challenge” to anything and everything the incumbent government tries to get done, at every opportunity.
It is no wonder that nothing decent ever gets done in this country!
This country has had enough of the Faux Peace we’ve been living post-war…
It is time for an altogether more autocratic style.
The Right thought Boris was their man, but he disappointed.
Sunak thinks he’s the man - but doesn’t aim to prove it by holding a snap election now when he’s 20 points behind in the polls…
A decent leader would be able to make that “Leap of Faith” - don’t you think?

What is a ’ lefty lawyer’ ? A lawyer should uphold the laws of the land - Unlike the serial law breaking tories.
The UK is practically a fascist state aligned with Russia and Belarus already.
How can Sunak say in Parliament " this it the will of the british people " when he is unelected and the tories are in power with less than 40% of the popular vote.
Time for proportional representation, an end to the monarchy and a proper constitution.
^^^ lawyers don’t uphold the laws of the land. It’s not in their remit. Unless they are working pro bono their job is to make as much money out of the client as possible and also to attempt to swing decisions in favour of their client regardless of innocence or guilt

The motivation of some lawyers might well be to make money. No argument.
They cannot defend a client who tells them he is guilty.
The UK does have an adversarial system, which isn`t necessarily best to seek truth, and favours those who can pay more for expertise in representation, but it is what we have.

Whilst i agree with you that PR should be the system, i think you might be a trifle disappointed with the result.
There’s millions of us out there that have no party representing us, millions more vote for the main two parties for the sole reason of keeping either the blue or red team of the uniparty out.
Whether you agreed with Brexit or not, the vote happened, yes technically the Leave vote won though anyone observing since will realise the vote has been betrayed by the majority remainer class of politician and civil servant…regardless of this betrayal the sheer number of people who voted when their vote would actually count and make a difference was amazing.
If we were to get PR (we won’t, the result would not suit the uniparty or those who own them) the same would apply, looking at the Brexit majority leave vote should give you an idea of where the hearts of the majority of the people in the country actually lie.

You must live a very insular and blinkered existence, the silent majority of British people do want all this unsustainable illegal immigration into our country to end right now, I can see lefty lawyer Starmer seeing a substantial drop in opinion polls over his party trying block everything the Government is trying to do, while he and his communist party just want the doors flung wide open.

The gov won a majority of 80 seats…we have had Tories in power for well over a decade…
But everything that ever goes wrong is always someone else`s fault?
