Tonyw38:
I’m sure i have seen it mentioned you are diabetic, this one mentions Metformin giving false positives, amongst many others. Pseudoephedrine and other decongestants can also do so.
Yes I brought this up , diabetic & take metaformin , they did Google it ( blokes doing test ) but according to them they couldn’t find any connection between metaformin , amphetamines
I’m waiting on replies from doctors / hospital if there anything medication wise I take that could cause this reading / maybe theyl come up with what you’ve said or give me a explanation how this result is possible
I retire in 8/9 months , have a operation soon where I’ll be off work for 6 months , so will continue to try & get answers but have packed in work , joint decision with mrs , it just seems one thing after another , and this is the final straw
I’m too old to have some kids going on as if I’m some kind of criminal , I understand they have there job to do , but l don’t have to put up with it
Thanks , could could have the answer , we will see

I know Dozy can be a bit challenging to deal with at times but the possibility of a false positive drugs test should be something every truck driver should be aware of and concerned about.
Yes, a false positive is a possible and worrying possibility.
But two…
Over the last 3 years I’ve had 100,s if not 1,000,s of blood tests / urine tests , I passed a hgv medical , my form was sent to the dvsa medical dept , I find it really hard to believe if I was taking amphetamines it wouldn’t of got picked up , never been mentioned .
As for you and others intimating my posts / replies could be attributed to drug taking , no that’s simply dealing with idiots , you being one
Thankyou for the help from the sensible ones , I’ve no answer to this , results at present , But I’m not concerned as nothing to hide , I’m sure there will be a perfectly reasonable answer to why these tests show what they do , assuming tests results are correct
But I can’t be bothered with all this , I’m too old to be taking lectures from some young kids , so have jacked job ( was going soon anyway ) ,
But Harry does have a point , if it happens to me it could be you next ( hopefully not )
Nice lie in Sunday morning so it’s not all bad

What are you on about erratic , if you multiple illnesses then your going to end up with multiple blood tests / urine tests , the blood lady as Grantham knows me by
Name now
I’ve got Boston thurs morn / Lincoln thurs afternoon , doctors Friday morn & then 2 separate appointments at Grantham fri afternoon this week , not everyone visits the doctors every 5 years , some of us spend a great deal of our time at doctors , clinics , hospitals etc , I don’t complain , there looking after me , I’m very thankful of what they do for me .
That’s why I say I find it very susprising amphetamines has never been mention , nor did the dvsa medical dept mention it
They said that they were going to do random drug testing at our place a while back. I told them I was ok with trying coke and weed but I wasn’t happy trying heroin or crack.

In 3 years there’s 1095 days. So 1,000’s of tests?

Absolutely.
These ■■■■ s in these firms come out with all these ■■■■ schemes, (mainly for discipline purposes to show who is boss… but as usual spin it as pr as some sort of safety operation. .)
So if what dozy says is right and he ain’t been on the hard stuff,.the test is not fit for purpose.
He reckons he ain’t bothered about the job and that he is fairly well off financially, but some other poor sod could lose his livelihood and his house because of these tossers who implement these pr schemes…
If it was me and it eventually is proven you have not (knowingly taken anything, I’d be trying to sue the basts, for loss of earnings not to mention reputation, implying and virtually accusing you of being some sort of junkie ffs …Boss a mate or not…■■■■ em.!!
I really hate all this type of crap dished out from transport firms these days, it gets right up my ■■■■ arse.
And breathe…ahhhhhh.
As for you doze …it’s maybe a blessing in disguise mate if your health ain’t up to scratch as you say it is.
Just knock the whole ■■■■ job on the head mate (it’s dog ■■■■ these days anyway so what’s to lose? ) and enjoy your retirement with your Mrs.
It might be interesting Doze when you’re at one of your hospital/doctor appts to mention this drugs test issue, they should be able to arrange a proper test instead of the possibly half baked 10 minute trained DIY type jobby these transport clerks are using, plus give it a few weeks and the latest booster should be out of your system if that’s had any influence in this crap show.
Other than that, so long as you can keep renewing your licence you can always pick and choose some premium rate agency shifts, keep your hand in a few handy extra quid and get out of the house for a few day trips sans mrs/kids, enjoy the retirement mate.

You know that he’ll be back to sleeping in laybys, eating ginsters pies, and working 100 hours a week next week. He can’t help himself.
Or so he tells us. One moment he’s earning 1000’s a week, next moment he’s complaining they make him start at midnight (even though he doesn’t need the job), next minute he’s got thousends in the bank and a house paid for, next minute he works for an agency for pocket money, next he’s doing 5 nights out, next he incites … well, those comments have now been deleted by the mods.

Yep, he’s a troll who has been found out and exposed numerous times.

Thanks rob I have packed up work ( but apparently those who know my life / financial position better than me ) have me back tramping , ginsters pasties etc next week , yes your right , it’s the lad with mortgage , kids that would be the worry , though you can have a blood test done at doctors which will clear this up , if your ever in this position , doctor is the one to speak to , then if you have a positive test for amphetamine you have to just hold your hands up ha ha
Nb never took drugs in my life , if the alcohol test had been positive for cider then I’d not be surprised ( was 0 though ) , drugs no
