I had to do a drug test today , apparently it shows I have amphetamine in my blood , I’ve no idea how this is possible unless it’s something to do with the medication I take , but then , wouldn’t the doctors who prescribe them , or the dvsa medical dept who know what medication I’m on say something , nothing has ever been mentioned to me
1 has anyone had one of these drug tests & got a result you were not expecting , makes no sense
2 anyone know what kind of medicine would have amphetamines in them
2 nd test was the same so have apparently to do more tests , in the meantime I’m going to speak to doctor

Yes, that does show amphetamine. You should have two solid lines for each drug tested. I once showed positive for cannabis, but another test showed negative and I cracked on with my shift. First was a dud test. I guess your only options are is to wait for the testing, or request a third drug test.
What does the leaflet that comes with your medication say?
We had to do a drug and alcohol test when I worked for Hacklings, we did have to tell them beforehand what medication we were on.
Some medications do contain amphetamine’s, painkillers can contain codeine, which is an opioid!
They would have to take into consideration any medication you have been prescribed by a doctor!
At the end of the day its up to them whether they continue to employ you!

Only drug test i ever did was when i started working for morrisons in their rdc years ago. I know i had just been to the toilet so didn’t need to pee for a while and was downing bottles of water trying to squeeze out enough for the test. Because the urine was concentrated it took the full amount of allotted time to come up negative for either cocaine or cannabis neither of which i have ever taken bloke doing the test was getting quite shirty with me insisting that i must of taken something. However he apologized once it came up negative.
Ref your medication have you not informed your employer what tablets your on for this very reason. Its no good getting called in for a test and then telling them as it could just be an excuse.
driver at our place done a minor bit of damage at our MK store this week…so as is DHL practice,he was drink and drug tested when he got back to our depot…and he failed the drug test! he is plainly not a druggie,and his only explanation is he eats bread with poppy seeds. next day the Co. got a proper doctor in,and he failed again! he is currently suspended…
No wonder you can work all those hours you do when the days are whizzing by on speed.

Thankyou, can’t see anything on the leaflets that come with medicine , blokes conducting tests googled medication & couldn’t find anything , I would of thought the dvsa medical dept who know all the medication I’m on would of brought it up if there was a issue
Can only do these extra tests they talk of and speak to doctor , very strange

Yes , it’s a good point , but can’t answer whether it would relate to a covid jab , if it does then there must be a lot of drivers driving around with amphetamine in there blood , I guess only doctor can hopefully answer this question

I would suggest it raises questions rather than explain anything , how have I got amphetamine in my blood , if it’s medication related why have various doctors who’ve prescribed it not mention anything , why have the dvsa medical dept who know all the medication I take passed me fit to drive

I’m stood down until all this gets sorted , loosing job doesn’t bother me , that’s there decision , as I told them I don’t take amphetamine so have nothing to hide
I just would like to know how this is possible , can’t see it’s test as did 2 , just got to find out how this is possible , to be honest when the bloke said after first test I had amphetamine in my blood I laughed , thought it was a joke , obviously it’s not
But I don’t take / never have taken any drugs , so other than medication I take I’m at a loss to explain , hopefully doctor can or if not can get to the bottom of it , or point me in the direction of someone who can

I informed the dvla medical dept of all my illnesses , medications , they passed me fit to drive & renewed my lisense , surely they wouldn’t have more knowledge to the effects / contents of the medication I take than some random bloke in a office
To be honest I doubt they’d be interested , there only interest is have you a valid lisense , there only interested now as I’ve failed a drug test , and I guess with the results there wondering do I take drugs, which I don’t
One last question for those who understand these tests , I on a regular basis have blood / urine tests , I have never had this ( amphetamine in my blood ) mentioned to me , I’m guessing these company drug tests look for specific things ( drugs ) whereas a normal blood test / urine test wouldn’t

Why i suggested the clot shot was the timing is just too convenient, and no bugger bar whoever made the batch has any idea whats in it or how it may react or combine with any other medication one might be taking, because (not as i’ve had one and won’t be) i’m given to believe the clot and flu shots are a production line money making operation for the surgeries.
We have random tests at work, very random, and you’ll get a test if you have an accident.
Won’t the company have to call in a professional or doctor for full blood test analysis before taking any long term disciplinary action? assuming you’ve been there long enough for them not to just dump you, hope it doesn’t work out like that anyway.

No mention of getting a doctor in , just more tests , urine being one , I think the company are a bit perplexed as according to them I’m the first driver to fail one , they’ve had a few tests which didn’t work etc , but not a failed test

I’ve only been there 10 mrs months so I guess they can dump me at the drop of a hat , though boss is a good mate so I don’t know what theyl do , he knows I don’t take drugs so is like me wants answers ,
I’m not bothered about job , just like to know how this is possible , covid jab I just can’t answer
dozy ,just a thought, Do you take any of the "Energy drinks? " wife came up +ve for speed at her works routine screening years ago, got cleared following a second proper test .
Also I am surprised at you dozy, you do realise its Friday the 13th , shouldn’t you be keeping your head down today ■■
