One of the guys at work handed his notice in last night, he is off to work at Dominos Pizza in MK, he says it’s double manned artic runs, he will have to do 3 shifts per week and gets £33k a year for it. Sounds all a bit too good to be true, anyone have any experience of them?? Not saying I don’t believe him, but does sound a lot of money for not much graft.
do they make double manned mopeds?

It’s definitely to good to be true - it’s a load of BUL*L.

LOL - Yep, I’ll bet that’s the job he’s going to. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
There was another thread on here recently with someone talking about this three double manned shifts a week thing, no names were mentioned in that thread, as far as I can recall, but it sounds the same deal.
EDIT - This thread covers the same subject but for a different firm.
New Look did similar thing 3 shifts a week double manned. Done one with an agency pity no one told me the length of the shifts so came as a bit of a shock doing a few stores in Fife then, Dundee, then Aberdeen and then coming back and being told thats the first run.
I used to work for New Look out of their main DC in Weymouth (now shut) when I first started driving, and yes, 3 double manned shifts meant 3x22 (as was allowed then). It was a bloody nightmare as you were tipping up to thirteen shops a night then going into London or Leicester for collections straight after, so neither driver got more than an hour or two in which to doze. We all learnt to sleep for 14 hours every other day instead of 7-8 hours a night. Fortunately I didn’t have to do it for long.
He seems to think he’s onto a winner with it, I doubt it to be honest especially from what you folks have now said, good luck to him!!

i deliver to wetherspoons places, its like that at 7am 8am 9am 10am 11am 12 noon 1 pm 2pm normally finished by 3 though…
Ive seen a dominos artic deliver to my local at about 3am, dont know if he is on his todd or someone is there to help him. The only reason i can see they deliver at those times is because you wouldn’t be able to get an artic anywhere near during the day. I don’t know how they get away with the 7am residential area rule though because the shop is opposite houses
Deffo switch off the reversing buzzer

Ive seen Domino’s trucks too and never seen them double manned
Ive delivered to car parts places that are in residential areas at 4am and not once did anybody come out and complain as cages arent exactly the quietest things to move especially empty ones - in fact during the snow over Christmas somebody walked past and said to be careful you dont fall over so I said too late Ive already gone arse over ■■■
Found out last night another one of the guys on our contract is off to Dominos, guess they like the sound of the dough

I always take it with a pinch of salt when people say they earn over £30,000 .
I know petrol tankers do but thats about it.

Plenty more than tanker drivers do, it’s getting to be a bit of a myth it’s only tanker drivers who can earn decent enough money in this game. European drivers where I was working all do better than £30K, my top line for this tax year will be around the £36K mark and would have been more if I had done the whole year, although that will include night out money. You are welcome to take that with as big a pinch of salt as you like but this is the latest payslip I have to hand, week 49 of the tax year.
