LGV4U based in Bredbury Stockport are offering medicals for £40. Is this the cheapest around ?
Think those places are a joke as they don’t know you or your medical history!!!
Theres a place just outside Syria that will give you a full medical on arrival. Think they pay for the flight too.

That’s not a medical it’s invasive surgery, ie bullet from an AK47 or an extremely close shave !
They might not be the best medicals but my dr charges £107 and won’t do the eye test!! The cheapest I found near me is £50.
Ah-just checked the e-mail a bit more carefully. Medical is FREE and company uniform is supplied(balaclava, sandals.kalashnikov) but the bonus scheme is poor.
If you avoid a drone strike 5 times you get to keep your goat.

Theres nothing stopping you taking your medical records with you to save money if it makes you feel better.

They do not need to
All the doctor needs to know is if you are fit to drive at that particular moment.
You could pass a medical with your own doctor and have a heart attack 2 mins after leaving. Doesnt say much does it?
I just paid £ 127. : shock: with my own doctor .
Mind you he knows my medical background & it’s not easy for me to get enough time to travel for a cheaper option.
Would you only take your car to the same mechanic on the basis that he knows the service history? Or would you accept that as a trained professional he should be able to correctly diagnose any problems?

When i last had one the doc at Barnetby only charged £40, I had it on a friday afternoon and he was doing 10 that afternoon due to having truck parking walking distance away.

With the greatest of respect Tango Boy no doctor knows you or your body the way YOU do. You would be the first to recognise any underlying medical problems, so why pay your own doctor £100+ when another doc would happily do it for £50 or so?
If you think you may have a medical problem you’d go see your doc as a matter of course and get a free check up. Just because he has to fill a form in for DVLA hardly justifies some of the exorbitant prices they charge.
A medical examination is like an MoT on your car, only really valid for the day that you take it, unless anything giving cause for concern in the long term is obvious.
OK so your own doctor will know what medication you are on whereas it’s up to how honest you are if a strange doctor asks you what medication you’re on.
Everyone finds their own GP too expensive, that’s why so many of us look for a cheaper option.
For the last 6 years,(I have to have a medical every year),I have been to Dr.Gilbey in Chell, does a right good check up including an eye test, has always been £30!
I missed him last year because he was on holiday so I googled for an HGV medical and found a firm based in Bristol I think that employs retired doctors at different venues at different times.
I saw this quack at Driver Hire agency office in Stoke, what a farce! Didn’t want to see my ■■■■ sample, asked me how tall I was and how heavy I was, never got his arse of his chair. Good job I had my eye test done by my optician as I had just had a cataract op and required new glass’s anyway.
This quack cost me £57!
OK I suppose if you want an easy medical, I prefer to know the truth at my age, what’s the chance of me making it for the next 12 months?
